Regarding the establishment of the Institute of Space Technology

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Pursuant to Decision No. 137/2006/QD-TTg dated June 14, 2006 of the Prime Minister approving the strategy for space science and technology research and application until 2020;

Considering the proposal of the President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

Article 1. The Institute of Space Technology under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology is hereby established.

The Institute of Space Technology is a scientific institution with the function of researching space science and technology; it has legal personality, its own seal, and is entitled to open a separate account at the State Treasury in accordance with the law; its main office is located in Hanoi; its name in English is: Space Technology Institute (abbreviated as: STI).

Article 2. The President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology shall define the functions, tasks, powers, organizational structure, and operational regulations of the Institute of Space Technology.

Article 3. This Decision takes effect from the date of issuance.

Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of agencies under the Government, Chairpersons of provincial People's Committees, and Chairpersons of municipal People's Committees directly under the central government shall be responsible for implementing this Decision.
