Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Lai province,
DECREE:
Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries of An Khê district are adjusted to establish An Khê city and Dak Po district, and to establish Dak Po commune under Dak Po district, Gia Lai province, as follows:
1. Establishing An Khê city based on the entire natural area and population of the communes: Tu An, Cuu An, Song An, Thanh An, and An Khê town under An Khê district.
An Khê city has 19,912.10 hectares of natural area and 62,600 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of An Khê city: East borders Binh Dinh province; West and South border Dak Po district; North borders K'Bang district and Binh Dinh province.
a) Establishing An Binh ward based on 930.40 hectares of natural area and 7,279 inhabitants of An Khê town.
The administrative boundary of An Binh ward: East borders Tay Son and An Tan wards; West and South border Dak Po district; North borders Thanh An commune.
b) Establishing Tay Son ward based on 327.75 hectares of natural area and 11,568 inhabitants of An Khê town.
The administrative boundary of Tay Son ward: East borders An Phu ward; West borders An Binh ward; South borders Dak Po district; North borders An Tan ward.
c) Establishing An Phu ward based on 384.50 hectares of natural area and 12,884 inhabitants of An Khê town.
The administrative boundary of An Phu ward: East borders Dak Po district; West borders Tay Son ward; South borders Dak Po district; North borders An Tan ward.
d) Establishing An Tan ward based on 457.35 hectares of natural area and 3,034 inhabitants of An Khê town.
The administrative boundary of An Tan ward: East borders An Phu and Song An communes; West borders An Binh ward; South borders An Phu and Tay Son wards; North borders Thanh An and Song An communes.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish the wards, An Khê city has 19,912.10 hectares of natural area and 62,600 inhabitants; it includes 8 subordinate administrative units, namely the wards: An Binh, Tay Son, An Phu, An Tan, and the communes: Tu An, Cuu An, Song An, Thanh An.
2. Establishing Dak Po district based on the entire natural area and population of the communes: Phu An, Tan An, Cuu An, Ya Hoi, Yang Bac, An Thanh, Ha Tam remaining from An Khê district.
Dak Po district has 49,961.50 hectares of natural area and 34,563 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of Dak Po district: East borders An Khê city and Binh Dinh province; West borders Mang Yang district; South borders Kon Chro district; North borders K'Bang district.
3. Establishing Dak Po commune under Dak Po district based on 1,963 hectares of natural area and 3,092 inhabitants of An Thanh commune.
The administrative boundary of Dak Po commune: East borders Cuu An and Tan An communes; West borders An Thanh commune; South borders An Thanh and Yang Bac communes; North borders Cuu An commune and K'Bang district.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Dak Po commune:
- An Thanh commune retains 4,393.20 hectares of natural area and 2,058 inhabitants.
- Dak Po district has 49,961.50 hectares of natural area and 34,563 inhabitants; it includes 8 subordinate administrative units, namely the communes Dak Po, Phu An, Tan An, Cuu An, Ya Hoi, Yang Bac, An Thanh, Ha Tam.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Lai province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the Heads of related agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
