MINISTRY OF LABOR - INVALIDS AND SOCIAL AFFAIRS

Regarding extending the period for retaining regional allowances

THE MINISTER OF LABOR, WAR INVALIDS AND SOCIAL AFFAIRS

Pursuant to Decree No. 96/CP dated December 7, 1993 of the Government on the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs.

Pursuant to Decree No. 25/CP, Decree No. 26/CP dated May 23, 1993 of the Government temporarily stipulating the new salary system for civil servants, administrative and public service officials, armed forces, and enterprises, and Circular No. 03/2001/TTLT-BLĐTBXH-BTC-UBDTMN dated January 18, 2001 of the Joint Circular of the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs - Ministry of Finance - Committee for Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas guiding the implementation of regional allowances;

To implement the Prime Minister's opinion in Document No. 49/VPCP-VX dated January 4, 2002 regarding extending the period for retaining the level of regional allowance and the agreement of the Ministry of Finance, Committee for Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas, and the Civil Service Personnel Department of the Government,

DECISION:

Article 1. It is hereby decided to extend the period for retaining the level of regional allowance until December 31, 2002 for communes and units subject to a reduction in the level of regional allowance as specified in Point 2, Section B, Part III (Annex No. 2) of Circular No. 03/2001/TTLT-BLĐTBXH-BTC-UBDTMN dated January 18, 2001 of the Joint Circular of the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs - Ministry of Finance - Committee for Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas guiding the implementation of regional allowances.

Article 2. This Decision takes effect from January 1, 2002.

The calculation method for regional allowances as stipulated in Circular No. 03/2001/TTLT-BLĐTBXH-BTC-UBDTMN dated January 18, 2001 mentioned above.

Article 3. Requesting the People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities to guide relevant units within their jurisdiction to implement this Decision.
