DECREE
REGARDING THE MERGER OF LAO CAI CITY AND CAM DUONG CITY
INTO LAO CAI CITY IN LAO CAI PROVINCE

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
CONSIDERING THE PROPOSAL OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF LAO CAI PROVINCE AND THE MINISTER, HEAD OF THE ORGANIZATION-CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE GOVERNMENT,
DECREE:
Article 1. NOW, THE ENTIRE NATURAL AREA AND POPULATION OF LAO CAI CITY AND CAM DUONG CITY ARE MERGED INTO LAO CAI CITY IN LAO CAI PROVINCE.
LAO CAI CITY HAS A NATURAL AREA OF 23,095.8 HA AND 77,167 POPULATION; IT INCLUDES 16 SUBDIVISIONS, WHICH ARE: PHUONG LAO CAI, PHUONG PHO MOI, PHUONG COC LEU, PHUONG KIM TAN, PHUONG DUYEN HAI, PHUONG BAC LENG, PHUONG POM HAN, PHUONG XUAN TANG, PHUONG THONG NHAT AND XA VAN HOA, XA BAC CUONG, XA NAM CUONG, XA DONG TUYEN, XA CAM DUONG, XA TA PHOI, XA HOP THANH.
THE ADMINISTRATIVE BOUNDARIES OF LAO CAI CITY: EAST ADJACENT TO BAOTHANG DISTRICT; WEST ADJACENT TO BATXAT DISTRICT AND SAPA DISTRICT; SOUTH ADJACENT TO SAPA DISTRICT; NORTH ADJACENT TO HAKHAU DISTRICT AND THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA.
Article 2. THIS DECREE SHALL TAKE EFFECT 15 DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF SIGNATURE. ALL PRIOR PROVISIONS CONTRARY TO THIS DECREE SHALL BE ABOLISHED.
Article 3. THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF LAO CAI PROVINCE, THE MINISTER, HEAD OF THE ORGANIZATION-CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE GOVERNMENT AND THE HEADS OF RELATED AGENCIES SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IMPLEMENTING THIS DECREE./.
