OF THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION NUMBER 16/QD DATED MARCH 26, 1987
REGARDING AMENDMENTS TO CERTAIN POINTS IN THE REGULATION ON EXAMINATION AND GRADUATION FOR LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOLS

Pursuant to Decree No. 123-HĐBT dated April 22, 1985 of the Council of Ministers regarding the tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Education;
Pursuant to Decision No. 219-QD issued by the Ministry of Education promulgating the Examination and Graduation Regulation for Lower Secondary Schools;
At the proposal of the Director of the Department of Lower Secondary Schools under the Ministry of Education,
DECIDES:
Article 1. - The point 4 of Article 6 in the Examination and Graduation Regulation for Lower Secondary Schools promulgated by Decision No. 219-QD dated February 28, 1986 is hereby abolished and replaced with a new point 4 of Article 6 as follows:
"In terms of cultural subjects, one must meet one of the following criteria:
a) Up to five subjects have an average score for the year from 4.0 to 4.9, while all other subjects must achieve at least 5.
b) Up to three subjects have an average score for the year from 4.0 to 4.9 and one subject has an average score for the year from 3.0 to 3.9; all remaining subjects must achieve at least 5.
c) One subject has an average score for the year from 4.0 to 4.9, and two subjects (of which only one can be literature or mathematics) have an average score for the year from 3.0 to 3.9; all remaining subjects must achieve at least 5."
Article 2. - The Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces, cities, and special administrative regions directly under the central government, the Director of the Office of the Ministry of Education, the Director of the Department of Lower Secondary Schools under the Ministry of Education, and the Directors of Departments of Education are responsible for implementing this decision.
