Regarding the suspension of the issuance of Treasury bills with a six-month term
THE MINISTER OF FINANCE
Pursuant to Decree No. 178/HĐBT dated October 28, 1994 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Finance;
Pursuant to Decision No. 07/HĐBT dated January 4, 1990 of the Council of Ministers (now the Government) on the establishment of the State Treasury system under the Ministry of Finance;
At the proposal of the Director of the State Treasury Department;
DECISION:
Article 1. The issuance of Treasury bills with a six-month term, interest rate of 1.7% per month, paid in advance according to Decision No. 432/TC-KBNN dated May 28, 1994 of the Minister of Finance shall be suspended from 16:30 on March 31, 1995 in the 30 provinces and cities where such Treasury bills are currently being issued.
Article 2. For Treasury bills with a six-month term that have reached maturity, the holder will be paid the principal and interest of the bill in one lump sum.
In cases where the holder of the Treasury bill does not come to settle upon maturity, the State Treasury will process the transfer of the principal and interest to a one-year Treasury bond with an annual interest rate of 21%, issued from April 1, 1995 according to Decision No. 141 TC/KBNN dated February 22, 1995 of the Minister of Finance.
Article 3. The Director of the State Treasury Department, heads of agencies under the Ministry of Finance, and Directors of the State Treasury in the 30 provinces and cities responsible for issuing Treasury bills are hereby instructed to implement this Decision./.
