Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries of Nghĩa Đàn district to establish Thái Hòa city; establishing wards under Thái Hòa city, Nghệ An province

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghệ An province,
DECREE:
Article 1. Now, we adjust the administrative boundaries of Nghĩa Đàn district to establish Thái Hòa city and establish wards under Thái Hòa city, Nghệ An province as follows:
1. Establishing Thái Hòa city
Establish Thái Hòa city under Nghệ An province based on adjusting 13,514.36 hectares of natural area and 66,000 population from Nghĩa Đàn district (including the entire natural area and population of Thái Hòa town and the communes: Nghĩa Quang, Nghĩa Hòa, Nghĩa Tiến, Nghĩa Mỹ, Tây Hiếu, Đông Hiếu, Nghĩa Thuận under Nghĩa Đàn district).
Thái Hòa city has 13,514.36 hectares of natural area and 66,000 population.
Administrative boundary of Thái Hòa city: East borders two districts of Quỳnh Lưu and Nghĩa Đàn; West, South, and North border Nghĩa Đàn district.
2. Establishing wards under Thái Hòa city
a) Establish Hòa Hiếu ward based on the entire natural area and population of Thái Hòa town.
Hòa Hiếu ward has 459.23 hectares of natural area and 10,742 population.
Administrative boundary of Hòa Hiếu ward: East borders Nghĩa Trung commune, Nghĩa Đàn district; West borders Quang Tiến ward, Thái Hòa city; South borders Long Sơn ward, Thái Hòa city; North borders Quang Phong ward, Thái Hòa city and Nghĩa Trung commune, Nghĩa Đàn district.
b) Establish Quang Tiến ward based on adjusting 769.10 hectares of natural area and 9,293 population from Nghĩa Quang commune.

Administrative boundary of Quang Tiến ward: East borders Hòa Hiếu ward and Long Sơn ward, Thái Hòa city; West borders Nghĩa Tiến commune, Thái Hòa city and Nghĩa Thắng commune, Nghĩa Đàn district; South borders Nghĩa Tiến commune, Thái Hòa city; North borders Quang Phong ward, Thái Hòa city.
c) Establish Quang Phong ward based on the remaining 623.66 hectares of natural area and 3,921 population of Nghĩa Quang commune.

d) Establish Long Sơn ward based on adjusting 424.7 hectares of natural area and 4,541 population from Nghĩa Hòa commune.

Nghĩa Hòa commune remains with 1,194.93 hectares of natural area and 2,332 population.
Thái Hòa city has 13,514.36 hectares of natural area and 66,000 population, including 10 direct administrative units, comprising 4 wards: Hòa Hiếu, Quang Tiến, Quang Phong, Long Sơn and 6 communes: Nghĩa Hòa, Tây Hiếu, Nghĩa Mỹ, Nghĩa Thuận, Đông Hiếu, Nghĩa Tiến.
Nghĩa Đàn district remains with 61,754.01 hectares of natural area and 129,158 population, including 24 direct administrative units comprising communes: Nghĩa Bình, Nghĩa Thắng, Nghĩa Thịnh, Nghĩa Hưng, Nghĩa Hội, Nghĩa Trung, Nghĩa Liên, Nghĩa Mai, Nghĩa Yên, Nghĩa Minh, Nghĩa Lâm, Nghĩa Lạc, Nghĩa Lợi, Nghĩa Thọ, Nghĩa Hiếu, Nghĩa Tân, Nghĩa Sơn, Nghĩa Hồng, Nghĩa Phú, Nghĩa Long, Nghĩa Lộc, Nghĩa An, Nghĩa Khánh, and Nghĩa Đức.
Nghệ An province has 20 direct administrative units, including: Vinh city, Cửa Lò city, Thái Hòa city, and 17 districts: Quỳnh Lưu, Diễn Châu, Nghi Lộc, Yên Thành, Hưng Nguyên, Nghĩa Đàn, Quỳ Hợp, Quỳ Châu, Quế Phong, Tân Kỳ, Đô Lương, Anh Sơn, Con Cuông, Tương Dương, Kỳ Sơn, Nam Đàn, and Thanh Chương.
Article 2. This Decree takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette. Previous regulations that conflict with this Decree are abolished.
Article 3. The Minister of Interior, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghệ An province, and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
