DECREE
Regarding the establishment of districts Chon Thanh and Budop under Binh Phuoc province
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province,
DECREE:
Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries are adjusted to establish the districts of Chon Thanh and Budop under Binh Phuoc province as follows:
1. Establishing the district of Chon Thanh based on 41,457.8 hectares of natural area and 53,323 population from the district of Binh Long.
The district of Chon Thanh has 41,457.8 hectares of natural area and 53,323 population; it includes 8 direct administrative units, namely the communes of Minh Long, Minh Thanh, Tan Quan, Nha Bich, Minh Lap, Minh Thang, Minh Hung, and the town of Chon Thanh.
Administrative boundary of the district of Chon Thanh: East borders the district of Dong Phu, Dong Xoai town, and Binh Duong province; West borders the district of Binh Long and Binh Duong province; South borders Binh Duong province; North borders the district of Binh Long.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish the district of Chon Thanh, the district of Binh Long retains 75,612.4 hectares of natural area and 129,453 population; it includes 13 direct administrative units, namely the communes of Thanh Luong, Thanh Phu, An Khuong, Thanh An, Tan Hung, Tan Loi, Phuoc An, Thanh Binh, An Phu, Minh Duc, Dong No, Tan Khai, and the town of An Loc.
2. Establishing the district of Budop based on 37,750.48 hectares of natural area and 45,253 population from the district of Loc Ninh.
The district of Budop has 37,750.48 hectares of natural area and 45,253 population; it includes 5 direct administrative units, namely the communes of Hung Phuoc, Thien Hung, Thanh Hoa, Tan Tien, and Tan Thanh.
Administrative boundary of the district of Budop: East borders the district of Phuoc Long; West borders the district of Loc Ninh and the Kingdom of Cambodia; South borders the districts of Loc Ninh and Phuoc Long; North borders the Kingdom of Cambodia.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish the district of Budop, the district of Loc Ninh retains 86,297.52 hectares of natural area and 102,291 population; it includes 13 direct administrative units, namely the communes of Loc Hiep, Loc Quang, Loc An, Loc Hoa, Loc Tan, Loc Thai, Loc Thien, Loc Khanh, Loc Duyen, Loc Thuan, Loc Hung, Loc Thanh, and the town of Loc Ninh.
Article 2. This Decree takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
