Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
Based on the Law on Forest Protection and Development dated August 19, 1991;
Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An Province (report No. 3320 TT/UB dated September 26, 2001) and the opinions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
DECISION:
Article 1. Reclassify Pu Mat Nature Reserve in Nghe An Province as a National Park.
The name of the National Park is: Pu Mat National Park.
Article 2. Location, geographical coordinates, and area of Pu Mat National Park:
1. Geographical location: Pu Mat National Park is located in the southwestern part of Nghe An Province, covering the territory of three districts: Cong Cuong, Tuyengiang, and Anh Son.
The boundaries of the Park are defined as follows:
- To the northeast, it borders the communes of Lang Khe, Chau Khe, Luc Da, Mon Son in Cong Cuong district.
- To the southwest, it borders the Democratic Republic of Laos.
- To the southeast, it borders the communes of Phuc Son, Hoi Son in Anh Son district.
- To the northwest, it borders the communes of Tam Hop, Tam Quang, Tam Dinh in Tuyengiang district.
2. Geographical coordinates:
- From 18 degrees 46' to 19 degrees 12' north latitude.
- From 104 degrees 24' to 104 degrees 56' east longitude.
3. Area of Pu Mat National Park:
The total area of the National Park is 91,113 hectares, including: Strict protection zone with 89,517 hectares, Ecological restoration zone with 1,596 hectares.
Article 3. Entrust the People's Committee of Nghe An Province to directly manage Pu Mat National Park. The People's Committee of Nghe An Province shall complete the investment construction and development project for Pu Mat National Park, the investment construction and development project for the buffer zone of Pu Mat National Park, submit them to the competent authority for approval and implementation according to current regulations.
Article 4. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days from the date of signature.
Article 5. Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Government-affiliated agencies, Heads of related sectors, and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An Province are responsible for implementing this Decision.
