DECREE

Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries of communes; establishment of communes and towns under Bac Binh district and Ham Tan district, Binh Thuan province

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior Affairs and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province,

DECREE:

Article 1. The administrative boundaries of communes; establishment of communes and towns under Bac Binh district and Ham Tan district, Binh Thuan province shall be adjusted as follows:

1. Adjustment of the administrative boundary of Lương Sơn commune under Bac Binh district

- Adjusting 4,232.95 hectares of natural area of Lương Sơn commune to be managed by Hòa Thắng commune;

- Adjusting 5,975.87 hectares of natural area and 355 population of Lương Sơn commune to be managed by Sông Bình commune.

2. Establishment of Lương Sơn town under Bac Binh district based on 2,992.69 hectares of natural area and 13,843 population remaining of Lương Sơn commune.

Lương Sơn town has 2,992.69 hectares of natural area and 13,843 population..       

Administrative boundary of Lương Sơn town: East borders Phan Thanh commune and Hồng Thái commune; West borders Sông Luỹ commune; South borders Hòa Thắng commune; North borders Sông Bình commune.

3. Establishment of Thắng Hải commune under Ham Tan district based on adjusting 9,898 hectares of natural area and 6,062 population of Tân Thắng commune.

Thắng Hải commune has 9,898 hectares of natural area and 6,062 population.

Administrative boundary of Thắng Hải commune: East borders Tân Thắng commune; West borders Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu province; South borders the East Sea; North borders Đồng Nai province.

4. Establishment of Tân Nghĩa town under Ham Tan district based on the entire 5,520 hectares of natural area and 12,679 population of Tân Nghĩa commune.

Tân Nghĩa town has 5,520 hectares of natural area and 12,679 population.

Administrative boundary of Tân Nghĩa town: East borders Sông Phan commune, Ham Tan district, Tân Bình commune, La Gi city; West borders Tân Phúc commune, Ham Tan district; South borders Tân Hà commune, Ham Tan district; North borders Sông Phan commune, Ham Tan district.

After the adjustment of administrative boundaries:

- Hòa Thắng commune has 23,653.45 hectares of natural area and 6,924 population;

- Sông Bình commune has 12,445.15 hectares of natural area and 4,004 population;

- Tân Thắng commune remains with 11,163 hectares of natural area and 9,610 population.

Bac Binh district has 182,533.20 hectares of natural area and 121,665 population, comprising 18 subordinate administrative units, including communes: Hòa Thắng, Sông Bình, Phan Thanh, Hải Ninh, Phan Hiệp, Bình Tân, Phan Hòa, Phan Rí Thành, Sông Luỹ, Phan Sơn, Bình An, Hồng Thái, Phan Tiến, Hồng Phong, Phan Lâm, Phan Điền and towns: Chợ Lầu, Lương Sơn.

Ham Tan district has 73,856 hectares of natural area and 73,082 population, comprising 10 subordinate administrative units, including communes: Tân Phúc, Tân Đức, Sông Phan, Tân Hà, Tân Xuân, Sơn Mỹ, Tân Thắng, Thắng Hải and towns: Tân Nghĩa, Tân Minh.

Article 2This Decree shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations that conflict with this Decree are hereby abolished.

Article 3The Minister of Interior Affairs, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province, and the Heads of relevant agencies shall be responsible for implementing this Decree./.
