THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Pursuant to Decree No. 01/2008/ND-CP dated January 3, 2008 of the Government on the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;

Pursuant to the Decisions of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development No. 1702/QD-BNN-TCCB dated June 6, 2008 on improving the Steering Committee for Brown Planthopper Control, Rice Yellow Dwarf Disease, and Rice Stripe Disease in Southern Provinces; No. 3361/QD-BNN-TCCB dated November 7, 2006 on working regulations and tasks of members of the Steering Committee for Brown Planthopper Control, Rice Yellow Dwarf Disease, and Rice Stripe Disease in Southern Provinces;

Considering the proposal of the Director of the Plant Protection Department (Document No. 790/TTr-BVTV dated May 21, 2008). Following the proposal of the Director of the Cadre and Civil Servant Affairs Department,

DECISION:

Article 1. Supplementing the tasks of the Steering Committee for Brown Planthopper Control, Rice Yellow Dwarf Disease, and Rice Stripe Disease in Southern Provinces (in Article 1 of Decision No. 3361/QD-BNN-TCCB dated November 7, 2006 of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development): Advising the Minister on the strategy for high-quality, sustainable rice production to meet national food security goals.

Article 2. Assigning specific tasks to members of the Steering Committee for Brown Planthopper Control, Rice Yellow Dwarf Disease, and Rice Stripe Disease in Southern Provinces as attached to this Decision.

Article 3. This Decision takes effect from the date of signature.

Article 4. The Head of the Ministry's Office, the Director of the Cadre and Civil Servant Affairs Department, Heads of relevant agencies and units, and members of the Steering Committee shall be responsible for implementing this Decision.
