DECREE
NUMBER: 180/SL DATE: APRIL 30, 1948
OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM
PRESIDENT OF THE VIETNAM DEMOCRATIC REPUBLICIC GOVERNMENT
CONSIDERING THE CURRENT FINANCIAL SITUATION,
AT THE PROPOSAL OF THE MINISTER OF FINANCE,
AFTER CONSULTATIONS BETWEEN THE STANDING COMMITTEE OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AND THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS,
ISSUES THE DECREE:
Article 1
FROM THE DATE THIS DECREE TAKES EFFECT, ALL TYPES OF DONG DƯƠNG BANK NOTES ISSUED BY THE DONG DƯƠNG BANK SHALL BE DEEMED INVALID THROUGHOUT VIETNAM.
Article 2
ANY PERSON WHO STILL POSSESSES AND CIRCULATES THE TYPES OF BANK NOTES MENTIONED IN ARTICLE 1 AFTER A PERIOD SET BY THE MINISTER OF FINANCE SHALL BE PROSECUTED BEFORE THE MILITARY COURT.
Article 3
A DECREE OF THE MINISTER OF FINANCE WILL DETERMINE WHICH TYPES MAY TEMPORARILY BE ALLOWED TO CIRCULATE.
Article 4
THE DETAILS FOR IMPLEMENTING THIS DECREE WILL BE DETERMINED LATER BY THE MINISTER OF FINANCE.
Article 5
THIS DECREE SHALL BE PROMULGATED URGENTLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 14 OF THE DECREE OF OCTOBER 10, 1945 (DECREE NO. 47).
Article 6
THE MINISTER OF JUSTICE AND THE MINISTER OF FINANCE ARE CHARGED WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS DECREE.
