DECREE

concerning the adjustment of administrative boundaries of Dong Hung district, Kien Xuan district, Vu Thu district to expand Thai Binh city; adjustment of administrative boundaries of wards and communes; establishment of wards under Thai Binh city, Thai Binh province

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

CONSIDERING the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh province,

DECREE

Article 1The administrative boundaries of Dong Hung district, Kien Xuan district, Vu Thu district are adjusted to expand Thai Binh city; the administrative boundaries of wards and communes are adjusted; wards under Thai Binh city, Thai Binh province are established as follows:

1. Adjustment of administrative boundaries of Dong Hung district, Kien Xuan district, Vu Thu district to expand Thai Binh city.

Adjusting 665.55 hectares of natural area and 10,789 population (including the entire natural area and population of Dong Tho commune and Dong My commune) from Dong Hung district; 1,394.23 hectares of natural area and 18,112 population (including the entire natural area and population of Vu Lac commune and Vu Dong commune) from Kien Xuan district; 379.41 hectares of natural area and 4,674 population (including the entire natural area and population of Tan Binh commune) from Vu Thu district to be managed by Thai Binh city.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries, Thai Binh city has 6,771.35 hectares of natural area and 178,183 population, with 18 direct administrative units, including wards: Le Hong Phong, De Tham, Quang Trung, Bo Xuyen, Ky Ba, Phu Khanh, Tran Lam, Tien Phong, and communes: Dong Hoa, Hoang Dieu, Phu Xuan, Vu Chinh, Vu Phuc, Dong Tho, Dong My, Vu Lac, Vu Dong, Tan Binh.

Administrative boundary of Thai Binh city: Southeast and South border Kien Xuan district; West and Southwest border Vu Thu district; North border Dong Hung district.

2. Establishing Hoang Dieu ward under Thai Binh city based on the entire 613.58 hectares of natural area and 13,715 population of Hoang Dieu commune.

Hoang Dieu ward has 613.58 hectares of natural area and 13,715 population.

Administrative boundary of Hoang Dieu ward: East borders Vu Dong commune and Vu Lac commune; West borders Tien Phong ward and Bo Xuyen ward; South borders Tran Lam ward and Ky Ba ward; North borders Dong Hoa commune and Dong Tho commune.

3. Establishing Tran Hung Dao ward under Thai Binh city based on adjusting 38.3 hectares of natural area and 2,676 population of Quang Trung ward; 57.5 hectares of natural area and 923 population of Tien Phong ward; 5.5 hectares of natural area and 673 population of Bo Xuyen ward; 70.3 hectares of natural area and 438 population of Phu Xuan commune.

Tran Hung Dao ward has 171.6 hectares of natural area and 4,710 population.

Administrative boundary of Tran Hung Dao ward: East borders De Tham ward, Bo Xuyen ward, Quang Trung ward; West borders Phu Khanh ward and Phu Xuan commune; South borders Quang Trung ward; North borders Tien Phong ward and Phu Xuan commune.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries of communes and districts to expand Thai Binh city and establishing wards under Thai Binh city:

Quang Trung ward remains with 111.01 hectares of natural area and 12,839 population.

Tien Phong ward remains with 252.92 hectares of natural area and 10,594 population.

Bo Xuyen ward remains with 83.35 hectares of natural area and 14,713 population.

Phu Xuan commune remains with 591.82 hectares of natural area and 8,232 population.

Thai Binh city has 6,771.35 hectares of natural area and 178,183 population, with 19 direct administrative units, including wards: Bo Xuyen, Phu Khanh, Ky Ba, Tien Phong, Quang Trung, Tran Lam, Le Hong Phong, De Tham, Tran Hung Dao, Hoang Dieu, and communes: Dong Hoa, Vu Chinh, Vu Phuc, Phu Xuan, Tan Binh, Vu Dong, Vu Lac, Dong Tho, Dong My.

Dong Hung district remains with 19,176.39 hectares of natural area and 246,335 population, with 44 direct administrative units, including communes: Dong Duong, Dong Hoang, Dong A, Dong Phong, Dong Huy, Dong Linh, Dong Kinh, Dong Tan, Dong Dong, Dong Cac, Dong Ha, Dong Giang, Dong Vinh, Dong Xuan, Dong Quang, Dong Phuong, Dong Cuong, Dong Xa, Dong Son, Dong La, An Chau, Do Luong, Lien Giang, Lo Giang, Phu Luong, Me Linh, Bach Dang, Hong Chau, Hong Viet, Hong Giang, Hoa Lu, Hoa Nam, Thang Long, Minh Tan, Chuong Duong, Hop Tien, Dong Phu, Trong Quan, Minh Chau, Phong Chau, Phu Chau, Nguyen Xa and Dong Hung town.

Kien Xuan district remains with 19,920.73 hectares of natural area and 223,179 population, with 37 direct administrative units, including communes: An Boi, Quang Trung, Quang Minh, Binh Minh, Thang Hien, Hoa Binh, Quang Binh, Quang Lich, Vu Trung, Vu Qui, Vu Cong, Vu Binh, Vu Thang, Vu Hoa, Vu Ninh, Vu An, Vu Le, Vu Tay, Vu Son, An Binh, Tra Giang, Hong Thai, Le Loi, Nam Cao, Dinh Phung, Thanh Tan, Binh Nguyen, Quoc Tuan, Quyet Tien, Quang Hung, Minh Hung, Minh Tan, Nam Binh, Binh Thanh, Binh Ding, Hong Tien and Thanh Ne town.

Vu Thu district remains with 19,516.18 hectares of natural area and 224,832 population, with 30 direct administrative units, including communes: Dong Thanh, Hong Ly, Xuan Hoa, Viet Hung, Hiep Hoa, Song Lang, Dung Nghia, Tam Quang, Tan Lap, Bach Thuan, Tu Tan, Hoa Binh, Minh Khai, Minh Quang, Minh Lang, Phuc Thanh, Tan Hoa, Tan Phong, Song An, Nguyen Xa, Trung An, Vu Hoi, Vu Van, Vu Vinh, Viet Thuan, Vu Tien, Vu Doai, Duy Nhat, Hong Phong and Vu Thu town.

Article 2This Decree takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are abolished.

Article 3The Minister of Home Affairs, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh province, and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
