Regarding the adjustment of the administrative boundaries of Lương Tâm Commune and Vĩnh Viễn Commune to establish Lương Nghĩa Commune and Vĩnh Viễn A Commune under Long Mỹ District, Hậu Giang Province

Pursuant to the Law on the Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001.
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hậu Giang Province,
DECREE
Article 1. The administrative boundaries of Lương Tâm Commune and Vĩnh Viễn Commune shall be adjusted to establish Lương Nghĩa Commune and Vĩnh Viễn A Commune under Long Mỹ District, Hậu Giang Province as follows:
1. Establish Lương Nghĩa Commune under Long Mỹ District based on the adjustment of 2,823 hectares of natural area and 10,024 population from Lương Tâm Commune.
Lương Nghĩa Commune has 2,823 hectares of natural area and 10,024 population.
The administrative boundary of Lương Nghĩa Commune: East borders Lương Tâm Commune, Long Mỹ District; West borders Vĩnh Tuy Commune, Gò Quao District, Kiên Giang Province; South borders Vĩnh Lộc Commune, Hồng Dân District, Bạc Liêu Province; North borders Vĩnh Viễn A Commune, Long Mỹ District.
2. Establish Vĩnh Viễn A Commune based on the adjustment of 2,498.31 hectares of natural area and 8,308 population from Vĩnh Viễn Commune.
Vĩnh Viễn A Commune has 2,498.31 hectares of natural area and 8,308 population.
The administrative boundary of Vĩnh Viễn A Commune: East borders Vĩnh Viễn Commune, Long Mỹ District; West borders Vĩnh Thắng Commune, Gò Quao District, Kiên Giang Province; South borders Lương Tâm Commune, Long Mỹ District; North borders Tân Tiến Commune and Hoả Tiến Commune, Vị Thanh City.
After the adjustment of the administrative boundaries:

Vĩnh Viễn Commune retains 4,212.37 hectares of natural area and 13,290 population.
Long Mỹ District has 36,612.07 hectares of natural area and 162,344 population, with 14 subordinate administrative units, including Long Mỹ Town, Trà Lồng Town, and the communes of Long Phú, Tân Phú, Thuận Hưng, Thuận Hòa, Xà Phiên, Vĩnh Thuận Đông, Lương Tâm, Lương Nghĩa, Vĩnh Viễn, Vĩnh Viễn A, Long Trị, and Long Bình.
Article 2. This Decree takes effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations that conflict with this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Minister of Home Affairs, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hậu Giang Province, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
