Regarding the establishment of the National Steering Committee for preparing and organizing the ASEAN Trade Fair 2004

To fulfill Vietnam's commitment to ASEAN regarding the organization of the rotating ASEAN Trade Fair; to promote exports and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods and services;

 

PRIME MINISTER

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Pursuant to the Law on Commerce dated May 10, 1997;

The National Steering Committee for preparing and organizing the ASEAN Trade Fair 2004 (hereinafter referred to as the National Steering Committee for the ASEAN Fair) is hereby established, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan, with Vice Minister of Commerce Truong Dinh Ty serving as the Vice Chairman in charge, and members comprising the following individuals:

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Trade,

DECISION:

Article 1. 1. Deputy Director of the Government Office Nguyen Quoc Huy,

2. Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Cong Nghia,

3. Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Truong Van Doan,

4. Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Trung Thanh,

5. Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Tran Chien Thang,

6. Deputy Director General of the General Security Department, Ministry of Public Security Hoang Duc Chinh,

7. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Bui Ba Bong,

8. Deputy Minister of Industry Nguyen Xuan Chuan,

9. Deputy Director General of the Tourism General Administration Pham Tu,

10. Deputy Chairman of the People's Committee of Hanoi Nguyen The Quang,

11. Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television Tran Dang Tuan,

12. Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam Le Dinh Dao,

13. Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Doan Duy Khuong.

The National Steering Committee for the ASEAN Fair shall be responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of relevant ministries, ministerial-level agencies, and localities involved in the preparation and organization of the ASEAN Trade Fair 2004 in Hanoi. The permanent working group assisting the National Steering Committee for the ASEAN Fair is the Department of Trade Promotion under the Ministry of Commerce. The Vice Chairman of the National Steering Committee shall decide on the allocation of departments, subordinate units, and personnel from the Ministry of Commerce to strengthen the permanent working group during the preparation and operation of the fair.

Article 2. The National Steering Committee for the ASEAN Fair consists of five sub-committees:

Article 3. - Content Sub-committee chaired by the Ministry of Commerce,

Article 4. - Information and Propaganda Sub-committee chaired by the Ministry of Culture and Information,

- Financial and Infrastructure Sub-committee chaired by the Ministry of Finance,

- Protocol Sub-committee chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,

- Security Sub-committee chaired by the Ministry of Public Security.

The National Steering Committee for the ASEAN Fair shall operate from the date this Decision takes effect until the conclusion of the fair.

This Decision shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. The agencies named in Article 1 are requested to promptly establish the sub-committees to ensure timely implementation of necessary tasks.

Article 5. The Minister, heads of the agencies named in Article 1, and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hanoi are responsible for implementing this Decision./.

Article 6. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. The agencies named in Article 1 shall promptly establish subcommittees to timely implement the necessary tasks.

Article 7. The Minister, Heads of the agencies named in Article 1, and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hanoi City are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
