THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION

Pursuant to item 6da) The specialized department as stipulated in Clause 2, Article 14 of Decree No. 127/2007/NĐ-CP dated August 1, 2007, issued by the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations; 2 of Decree No. 22/CP dated 22 the 3 1994 of the Government assigning the Ministry of Transport to "establish technical standards for transportation vehicles, equipment, and parts for transportation vehicles produced and imported to be consistent with technical characteristics, economic conditions, and traffic safety in our country." 3d
Pursuant to item 3va) The specialized department as stipulated in Clause 2, Article 14 of Decree No. 127/2007/NĐ-CP dated August 1, 2007, issued by the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations; and itemof Decree No. 86/CP dated 4 registered 4 December 12, 1999 of the Government stipulating the division of responsibilities for state management of product quality; 08 Pursuant to Circular No. 1192/KCM-GTVT dated June 12, 1996 of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment - Ministry of Transport guiding
the implementation of Decree No. 86/CP dated December 12, 1995 of the Government stipulating the division of responsibilities for state management of product quality; 08 Considering the proposal of the Director of the Vietnam Vehicle Inspection Agency, the Director of the Vietnam Highway Administration, and the Head of the Science and Technology Department,
Now hereby promulgating together with this Decision "Regulations on the Inspection of Quality and Technical Safety of Imported Motor Vehicles into Vietnam." This Decision shall take effect from January 1, 2000.

Article 1. The Director of the Vietnam Vehicle Inspection Agency, the Director of the Vietnam Highway Administration shall, within their respective functions and duties, coordinate with the Science and Technology Department to guide, organize, and supervise the implementation of this Decision.

Article 2. The Heads of the Office of the Ministry, the Head of the Science and Technology Department, the Head of the Legal Affairs Department, the Director of the Vietnam Highway Administration, the Director of the Vietnam Vehicle Inspection Agency, the Directors of Provincial Departments of Transport and Public Works, and the Heads of relevant units according to their functions are responsible for enforcing this Decision.

Article 3. The Director of the Vietnam Vehicle Inspection Agency and the Director of the Vietnam Highway Administration, based on their functions and responsibilities, shall coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology to guide, organize, and supervise the implementation of this Decision.

Article 4. The Heads of the Ministry's Office, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Legal Affairs for Transport, the Director of the Vietnam Highway Administration, the Director of the Vietnam Vehicle Inspection Agency, the Directors of Provincial Departments of Transport and Public Works under the Central Government, and the heads of relevant units according to their functions shall be responsible for enforcing this Decision.
