Regarding the establishment of the National Steering Committee for the North-South Expressway Project

PRIME MINISTER
Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
At the request of the Minister of Transport,
DECISION:
Article 1. The National Steering Committee for the North-South Expressway Project is hereby established. The Committee shall be directly under the leadership of Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Duc Luong, and Special Envoy of the Government Dong Si Nguyen assisting the Prime Minister in directing the Committee.
Article 2. Members of the Steering Committee include:
- Acting Minister of Transport Le Ngoc Hoan: Chairman
- Deputy Minister of Defense Nguyen Trong Xuyen: Vice-Chairman
- Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Dinh Khien: Vice-Chairman
- Deputy Minister of Transport Pham Quang Tuyen.
- Deputy Minister of Finance Le Thi Bang Tam
- Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Hong Quan
- Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Luong Trao
- Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Environment Chu Hao
- Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vo Hong Quang
- Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Chu Van Nguyen
- Deputy Director General of the Land Administration Department Chu Van Thinh
- Permanent Secretary of the Communist Youth Union Central Committee Hoang Binh Quan.
Article 3. The National Steering Committee for the North-South Expressway Project shall have the responsibility to assist the Prime Minister in directing and deciding major issues of the project that exceed the authority of the Ministries; coordinating with the Fatherland Front and people's mass organizations, the public information system in mobilizing society and the people to participate in building the project; directing the inspection of the coordination among sectors and localities in organizing and implementing the project.
Article 4. The Ministry of Transport shall serve as the permanent office of the National Steering Committee for the North-South Expressway Project.
Article 5. Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government, Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities, and those named in Article 1 and Article 2 are responsible for implementing this decision.
