Regarding the establishment of the Health Insurance Department under the Ministry of Health

PRIME MINISTER

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Pursuant to Decree No. 86/2002/ND-CP dated November 5, 2002 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of Ministries and ministerial-level agencies;

Pursuant to Decree No. 63/2005/NĐ-CP dated May 15, 2005 of the Government on the issuance of the Social Health Insurance Regulations;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Health and the Minister of Home Affairs,

DECISION:

Article 1. Establish the Health Insurance Department under the Ministry of Health.

Article 2. The Health Insurance Department shall have the function of assisting the Minister of Health in performing state management functions regarding social health insurance as prescribed by law.

Delegate the Minister of Health to specify in detail the tasks, powers, and staffing of the Health Insurance Department.

Article 3. This Decision takes effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

Ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, heads of government-affiliated agencies, Chairpersons of provincial People's Committees under central cities are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
