DECREE-LAW
NO.: 199 DATE: JULY 8, 1948
OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM
CHAIRMAN OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM
- CONSIDERING the current financial situation,
- AT THE PROPOSAL of the Minister of Finance,
- AFTER CONSULTATION with the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the Council of Ministers,
ENACTS:
Article 1
The currency unit of Vietnam is the "Viet" (Việt).
Article 2
One "Viet" is a gold coin weighing 0.375 grams of pure gold.
Article 3
The relationship between the "Viet" and the current Vietnamese banknotes shall be determined by a subsequent decree-law.
Article 4
The Minister of Finance is responsible for implementing this decree-law.
