MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION

Now hereby promulgates with this Decision the "Regulations on Responsibilities and Forms of Handling for Organizations and Individuals when Violating Management and Operation of Road Traffic Load Control Stations for Motor Vehicles."

Pursuant to Decree No. 40/CP dated July 5, 1996 of the Government on ensuring order and safety in inland waterway traffic;

At the proposal of the Heads of the Legal Department and the Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration;

 

DECISION:

Article 1.

Amend the provisions regarding the placement of warning signals, restriction signals, and guidance signals in the "Inland Waterway Traffic Signal Rules of Vietnam" issued pursuant to Decision No. 1538 QĐ/KHKT dated August 3, 1992 of the Ministry of Transportation as follows: the surface of the signal should be placed perpendicular to the direction of vessel movement.

The placement of supplementary warning signs remains as previously stipulated: the surface of the sign should be placed parallel to the direction of vessel movement.

Article 2. Supplement the following additional warning signs for obstacles, restriction signals, and guidance signals into the "Inland Waterway Traffic Signal Rules" (with attached appendices):

1. B-5: The bottom fishing warning signal is prescribed in Clause 2, Article 76 of Decree No. 40/CP dated July 5, 1996 of the Government.

2. C-II.5: The speed limit warning signal;

3. C-II.6: The sound signal warning signal;

4. C-III.11: The sports and recreation area guidance signal;

5. C-III.12: The number of vessels allowed to moor guidance signal;

6. C-III.13: The end of prohibition or restriction guidance signal.

Article 3. This Decision shall take effect from September 1, 1996.

Any previous regulations that conflict with the provisions of this Decision shall be abolished.

Article 4. Entrust the Head of the Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration to guide and organize the implementation of this Decision uniformly throughout the country.

Article 5. The Heads of the Ministry's Office, the Legal Department, the Science and Technology Department, the Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration, the Directors of Provincial Transport Departments, Provincial Transport and Public Works Departments, and organizations and individuals involved in inland waterway traffic have the responsibility to implement this Decision.

In the inland waterway traffic signal rules registered under number 22 TCN-208-92, promulgated pursuant to Decision No. 1538/QĐ-KHKT dated August 3, 1992, Ministry of Transportation.
