DECREE-LAW
OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM
NO. 206 DATED November 15, 1946
THE CHAIRMAN OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM
Pursuant to Decree-Law No. 118 dated July 9, 1946 establishing a special defense tax on transportation sectors;
At the request of the Ministers of Finance, Public Works and Transportation, and Defense who have agreed;
After deliberation by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the Council of Ministers,
ISSUES THE FOLLOWING DECREE-LAW:
Article 1
The second, seventh, and eighth articles of the aforementioned Decree-Law No. 118 are hereby amended as follows:
Article 2, paragraph 2:
Instead of "The Public Works Department shall issue an order to collect after verification."
It reads: "After verification, the Public Works Department shall accept and compile a general report, then forward it to the Ministry of Defense for issuance of an order to collect."
Article 7, paragraph 2:
It reads: "If hidden or concealed items are found on trains or electric cars by the inspection staff of the Railway Administration or Electric Car Company, such staff shall be jointly responsible for fines and may face severe punishment if there is sufficient evidence that they tolerated such concealment."
Article 8:
It reads: "Persons evading tickets or fares shall be fined five times the amount of the special defense tax they should have paid had there been no evasion."
Article 2
The Ministers of Finance, Public Works and Transportation, and Defense are responsible for implementing this Decree-Law./.
