Decree No. 21/2004/NĐ-CP On the establishment of communes under the districts of Châu Thành, Trảng Bàng and the adjustment of administrative boundaries of the districts of Dương Minh Châu, Tân Châu, Tây Ninh province

DECREE

Regarding the establishment of communes under the districts of Châu Thành, Trảng Bàng and the adjustment of administrative boundaries of the districts of Dương Minh Châu, Tân Châu, Tây Ninh province

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tây Ninh province,

DECREE

Article 1. The establishment of communes under the districts of Châu Thành, Trảng Bàng and the adjustment of administrative boundaries of the districts of Dương Minh Châu, Tân Châu, Tây Ninh province shall be carried out as follows:

1. Establishing commune An Bình under Châu Thành district based on 2,221 hectares of natural area and 6,485 population of commune Thanh Điền. Administrative boundary of commune An Bình: East borders commune Thanh Điền; West borders commune Trí Bình; South borders commune Ninh Điền; North borders commune Thái Bình. After adjusting administrative boundaries to establish commune An Bình, commune Thanh Điền will remain with 2,421 hectares of natural area and 13,536 population.

2. Establishing commune An Cơ under Châu Thành district based on 3,673 hectares of natural area and 9,988 population of commune Hảo Đước. Administrative boundary of commune An Cơ: East borders commune Đồng Khởi; West borders commune Phước Vinh; South borders commune Hảo Đước; North borders Tân Biên district. After adjusting administrative boundaries to establish commune An Cơ, commune Hảo Đước will remain with 3,650 hectares of natural area and 8,350 population.

3. Establishing commune Hưng Thuận under Trảng Bàng district based on 1,681 hectares of natural area and 2,636 population of commune Lộc Hưng, 2,606 hectares of natural area and 6,281 population of commune Đôn Thuận. Commune Hưng Thuận has 4,287 hectares of natural area and 8,917 population. Administrative boundary of commune Hưng Thuận: East borders Hồ Chí Minh city; West borders commune Đôn Thuận; South borders commune Lộc Hưng; North borders commune Đôn Thuận and Bình Dương province. After adjusting administrative boundaries to establish commune Hưng Thuận: commune Lộc Hưng will remain with 4,326 hectares of natural area and 15,892 population. Commune Đôn Thuận will remain with 6,228 hectares of natural area and 10,357 population.

4. Adjusting administrative boundaries of Dương Minh Châu and Tân Châu districts as follows:

a) Transferring 7,433 hectares of natural area and 1,104 population (wards Tà Dơ, Đồng Kèn) of commune Suối Đá under Dương Minh Châu district to commune Tân Thành under Tân Châu district for management.

b) Transferring 7,930 hectares of natural area and 1,775 population (ward Suối Bà Chiêm) of commune Suối Đá under Dương Minh Châu district to commune Tân Hòa under Tân Châu district for management.

After the adjustment of administrative boundaries:

Dương Minh Châu district retains 43,451 hectares of natural area and 100,047 population.

Commune Suối Đá under Dương Minh Châu district retains 12,669 hectares of natural area and 13,968 population.

Tân Châu district has 111,112 hectares of natural area and 101,915 population.

Commune Tân Thành under Tân Châu district has 14,503 hectares of natural area and 9,061 population.

Commune Tân Hòa under Tân Châu district has 26,232 hectares of natural area and 5,690 population.

Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.

Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Tây Ninh province, the Minister of Home Affairs and the Heads of relevant agencies shall be responsible for implementing this Decree.
