CIRCULAR
Regarding the issuance and implementation of the "National Technical Regulation on Safety for Electrical and Electronic Equipment"
concerning the safety of electrical and electronic equipment”

Pursuant to the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations dated June 29, 2006, and Decree No. 127/2007/NĐ-CP dated August 1, 2007 of the Government detailing the implementation of certain provisions of the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations;
Pursuant to Decree No. 28/2008/NĐ-CP dated March 14, 2008, promulgated by the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Science and Technology;
Considering the proposal of the General Director of the Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Department;
The Minister of Science and Technology hereby promulgates:

Article 1. Attached hereto is the "National Technical Regulation on Safety for Electrical and Electronic Equipment".

Article 2. This Circular takes effect forty-five days from the date of issuance.

Article 3. As of June 1, 2010, electrical and electronic equipment from number 1 to number 6 as specified in the Appendix of the National Technical Regulation on Safety for Electrical and Electronic Equipment shall only be circulated in the market after being certified as compliant, marked with a compliance mark, and registered with quality documentation as prescribed.

Article 4. As of January 1, 2011, electrical and electronic equipment from number 7 to number 13 as specified in the Appendix of the National Technical Regulation on Safety for Electrical and Electronic Equipment shall only be circulated in the market after being certified as compliant, marked with a compliance mark, and registered with quality documentation as prescribed.

Article 5. The Director of the General Department of Standardization, Metrology and Quality, heads of relevant agencies, organizations, and individuals are responsible for implementing this Circular.

DURING THE IMPLEMENTATION, IF THERE ARE ANY DIFFICULTIES, ORGANIZATIONS, ORGANIZATIONS, AND INDIVIDUALS SHOULD PROMPTLY REPORT TO THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR STUDY AND AMENDMENT./.
