DECREE
REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SOC TRANG CITY IN SOC TRANG PROVINCE

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
CONSIDERING THE PROPOSAL OF THE MINISTER OF INTERIOR AND THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF SOC TRANG PROVINCE.
DECISION:
Article 1. TO ESTABLISH SOC TRANG CITY IN SOC TRANG PROVINCE ON THE BASIS OF THE ENTIRE NATURAL AREA, POPULATION, AND ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS UNDER THE MANAGEMENT OF SOC TRANG TOWN.
SOC TRANG CITY HAS AN AREA OF 7,615.22 HA AND A POPULATION OF 173,922, WITH 10 SUBORDINATE ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS INCLUDING WARD 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
THE ADMINISTRATIVE BOUNDARIES OF SOC TRANG CITY ARE AS FOLLOWS: EAST ADJACENT TO LONG PHU DISTRICT; WEST ADJACENT TO MY TU DISTRICT; SOUTH ADJACENT TO MY XUYEN DISTRICT; NORTH ADJACENT TO LONG PHU AND MY TU DISTRICTS, SOC TRANG PROVINCE.
SOC TRANG PROVINCE HAS 9 DISTRICTS INCLUDING CU LAO DUNG, KE SACH, LONG PHU, MY TU, MY XUYEN, NGOA NAM, THANH TRI, VINH CHAU AND SOC TRANG CITY.
Article 2. THIS DECREE SHALL TAKE EFFECT 15 DAYS AFTER ITS PUBLICATION IN THE OFFICIAL GAZETTE. ALL PRIOR REGULATIONS CONTRADICTING THIS DECREE SHALL BE ABROGATED.
Article 3. THE MINISTER OF INTERIOR, THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF SOC TRANG PROVINCE AND THE HEADS OF RELATED AUTHORITIES SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENFORCING THIS DECREE./.
