REGARDING THE CLASSIFICATION OF SMALL AND ULTRA-SMALL HYDROPOWER PLANT CAPACITY IN THE CALCULATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT PLANNING

THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY

On the basis of Decree No. 55/2003/NĐ-CP dated May 28, 2003 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry;

Pursuant to the Electricity Law dated December 3, 2004;

At the proposal of the Director of the Science and Technology Department;

DECISION:

Article 1. The following classification of small and ultra-small hydroelectric plant capacity is hereby prescribed:

1. Small hydropower plants: Installed capacity greater than or equal to 1 MW and less than or equal to 30 MW (1 MW ≤ Nlm ≤ 30 MW).

2. Ultra-small hydropower plants: Installed capacity less than 1 MW (Nlm < 1 MW).

Article 2. This regulation shall take effect from the date of signature and be uniformly applied throughout the country for the calculation of renewable energy development planning in national energy balance.

Article 3. The Heads of the Ministry's Office, the Inspectorate, the Departments, the Bureaus, the Economic Groups, the Corporations, the agencies, enterprises under the Ministry, and related organizations and individuals are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
