DECISION OF THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Regarding the delegation of authority to the Rector of the National University to confer doctoral degrees
MINISTER OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Pursuant to the Education Law dated December 2, 1998;
Pursuant to the Government Decree No. 15/CP dated March 2, 1993 on the tasks, powers, and responsibilities for state management of ministries and ministerial-level agencies;
Pursuant to the Government Decree No. 29/CP dated March 30, 1994 on the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Education and Training;
Pursuant to the Government Decree No. 07/2001/NĐ-CP dated February 1, 2001 on the National University;
Pursuant to the Prime Minister's Decision No. 16/2001/QĐ-TTg dated February 12, 2001 promulgating the Regulations on the organization and operation of the National University;
At the proposal of the Director of the Postgraduate Studies Department,
DECISION:
Article 1. Delegates authority to the Rector of the National University:
1. To issue decisions recognizing postgraduate students belonging to the National University.
2. To guide and direct affiliated training institutions of the National University to organize subject-based thesis evaluation for postgraduate students belonging to the National University.
3. To issue decisions establishing the State Thesis Evaluation Board according to the Postgraduate Training Regulations issued together with the Decision No. 18/2000/QĐ-BGDĐT dated June 8, 2000 of the Minister of Education and Training.
4. To issue decisions conferring academic degrees and awarding doctoral diplomas to postgraduate students belonging to the National University who have successfully defended their theses and have fulfilled the requirements for thesis review set by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Article 2. THIS DECISION SHALL TAKE EFFECT 15 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF SIGNATURE.
Article 3. The Heads of the Office, the Director of the Postgraduate Studies Department, the Heads of relevant units under the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Rector of the National University are responsible for implementing this Decision.
