Regarding the designation of June 11 each year as National Patriotic Competition Day

PRIME MINISTER
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Pursuant to the Law on Encouragement and Reward dated November 26, 2003 and the Law Amending and Supplementing Certain Provisions of the Law on Encouragement and Reward dated June 14, 2005;
Pursuant to Directive No. 19-CT-TW dated December 22, 2007 of the Politburo on the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic competition (June 11, 1948 - June 11, 2008);
Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the Central Steering Committee for Encouragement and Reward (Proposal No. 49/TTr-BTĐKT dated January 8, 2008),
DECISION:
Article 1. Designate June 11 each year as Traditional National Patriotic Competition Day. The Central Steering Committee for Encouragement and Reward, the Central Steering Committee for Encouragement and Reward shall take the lead and coordinate with relevant agencies:
- Organize study sessions on President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on patriotic competition, linking them with the extensive and effective implementation of the movement "Learning and Practicing the Moral Example of President Ho Chi Minh."
- Organize various forms of propaganda about the role and impact of patriotic competition on the cause of national liberation, reunification, reform, and international economic integration, construction, and defense of the country; draw lessons from experiences in educational methods and motivation for all strata of the people to uphold the tradition of patriotism, overcome all difficulties and challenges, and successfully fulfill political tasks in each period.
- Develop plans for regular propaganda and effectively implement commemorative activities, promote patriotic competition movements in all fields, identify, nurture, and widely disseminate exemplary models and new factors, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 10th National Party Congress.
Article 2. The Minister, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government, Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities, and the Chairman of the Central Steering Committee for Encouragement and Reward shall enforce this decision./.
