CIRCULAR

Amending and supplementing Circular No. 03/1998/TT/BTM guiding the issuance of import permits for raw timber originating from Cambodia

Pursuant to Document No. 02/CP-KTTH-m dated January 13, 1998 of the Government and Document No. 3895/VPCP-KTTH dated August 25, 1999 of the Government Office regarding the import of rubber wood from Cambodia,

The Ministry of Trade amends and supplements Circular No. 03/1999/TT/BTM dated February 24, 1998 guiding the issuance of import permits for raw timber originating from Cambodia as follows:

1. Amend Section II on Application Documents for Import Permit Issuance as follows:

The application documents for import permit include:

A letter requesting the issuance of an import permit from the importing enterprise specifying the name of the selling enterprise, type of wood, specifications of the wood (roundwood, sawnwood, or lumber), quantity, and port of entry.

A copy of the business registration certificate and enterprise code registration for enterprises engaged in import and export activities.

The original principle contract signed directly between the Vietnamese enterprise and the Cambodian enterprise.

The original or a certified copy of the export permit issued by the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce indicating the name of the exporting Cambodian enterprise, the importing Vietnamese enterprise, type of wood, specifications, and quantity. If it is a copy, it must be certified by the Embassy of Vietnam in Cambodia, or a Vietnamese notary public, or the Cambodian Embassy in Hanoi.

2. Other provisions of Circular No. 03/1998/TT/BTM dated February 24, 1998 of the Ministry of Trade remain valid and enforceable.

3. This Circular takes effect fifteen days from the date of signature./.
