OF THE GOVERNMENT DECREE NO. 27-CP DATED MARCH 24, 1994 ON ADJUSTING THE BOUNDARIES OF COUNTIES AND COMMUNES IN LONG AN PROVINCE
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
CONSIDERING THE PROPOSAL OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF LONG AN PROVINCE AND THE ORGANIZATION-CADRES BOARD OF THE GOVERNMENT,
DECREE
Article 1. -The boundaries of counties and communes under Long An Province shall be adjusted as follows:
I. ADJUSTING THE BOUNDARIES OF COMMUNES AND ESTABLISHING NEW COMMUNES AND TOWNS IN MOCHUA DISTRICT:
1. Establishing Binh Thanh Commune based on 837 hectares of natural area with 108 inhabitants from Binh Phong Thanh Commune; 2,726.8 hectares of natural area with 642 inhabitants from Binh Hoa Dong Commune.
- The new Binh Thanh Commune has 3,563.8 hectares of natural area with 1,750 inhabitants.
The boundary of Binh Thanh Commune is to the East adjacent to Tan Hiep Commune (Thanh Hoa District); to the West adjacent to Binh Hoa Tay Commune; to the South adjacent to Binh Hoa Trung, Binh Hoa Dong, and Binh Phong Thanh Communes; to the North adjacent to the Cambodian border.
- Binh Phong Thanh Commune retains 6,621 hectares of natural area with 1,959 inhabitants.
- Binh Hoa Dong Commune retains 3,666 hectares of natural area with 2,068 inhabitants.
2. Establishing Tuyen Binh Tay Commune based on 4,125 hectares of natural area with 2,602 inhabitants from Tuyen Binh Commune.

- The new Hung Dien Commune has 4,598 hectares of natural area and 2,074 inhabitants.
The boundary of Hung Dien Commune is to the East adjacent to Hung Dien B Commune; to the West adjacent to Dong Thap Province; to the South adjacent to Hung Thanh Commune; to the North adjacent to the Cambodian border.
- Hung Dien B Commune retains 4,273 hectares of natural area with 2,700 inhabitants.
2. Establishing Vinh Thuan Commune based on 1,224 hectares of natural area with 900 inhabitants from Vinh Tri Commune; 670 hectares of natural area with 838 inhabitants from Vinh Loi Commune.
- Vinh Thuan Commune (new) has 3,280 hectares of natural area with 2,138 inhabitants.
The boundary of Vinh Thuan Commune is to the East adjacent to Tuyen Binh Tay and Vinh Binh Communes; to the West adjacent to Vinh Thanh, Thanh Hung, and Vinh Tri Communes; to the South adjacent to Vinh Loi Commune; to the North adjacent to Vinh Tri, Vinh Binh Communes, and Vinh Hung Town.
3. Separating 394 hectares of natural area with 1,400 inhabitants from Vinh Thanh Commune; 116 hectares of natural area with 1,159 inhabitants from Hung Thanh Commune to establish Tan Hung Town.
- The new Tan Hung Town has 510 hectares of natural area with 2,559 inhabitants.
The boundary of Tan Hung Town is to the East adjacent to Vinh Thanh Commune; to the West adjacent to Vinh Chau B and Hung Thanh Communes; to the South adjacent to Vinh Chau B and Vinh Thanh Communes; to the North adjacent to Hung Thanh and Vinh Thanh Communes.
After adjusting the boundaries to establish Vinh Thuan Commune and Tan Hung Town:
- Vinh Tri Commune retains 5,689 hectares of natural area with 3,573 inhabitants.
- Vinh Thanh Commune retains 5,222 hectares of natural area with 3,037 inhabitants.
- Vinh Loi Commune retains 5,214 hectares of natural area with 2,638 inhabitants.
- Hung Thanh Commune retains 4,587 hectares of natural area with 2,902 inhabitants.
Tan Thanh District:
Establishing Nhon Hoa Commune based on 1,809 hectares of natural area with 1,513 inhabitants from Tan Lap Commune; 392 hectares of natural area with 209 inhabitants from Tan Binh Commune; 541 hectares of natural area with 1,550 inhabitants from Nhon Ninh Commune.
- The new Nhon Hoa Commune has 2,724 hectares of natural area with 3,272 inhabitants.
The boundary of Nhon Hoa Commune is to the East adjacent to Kien Binh Commune, Tan Thanh Town, and Tan Binh Commune; to the West adjacent to Tan Lap Commune; to the South adjacent to Nhon Ninh Commune; to the North adjacent to Tan Lap Commune in Mochua District.
- Tan Lap Commune retains 4,471 hectares of natural area with 6,227 inhabitants.
- Tan Binh Commune retains 3,260 hectares of natural area with 1,863 inhabitants.
- Tan Binh Commune retains 3,260 hectares of natural area with 1,863 inhabitants.
- Nhon Ninh Commune retains 4,419 hectares of natural area with 12,030 inhabitants.
Duc Hue District:
Separating 3,750 hectares of natural area with 2,315 inhabitants from Binh Thanh Commune to establish Binh Hoa Hung Commune.
- The new Binh Hoa Hung Commune has 3,750 hectares of natural area with 2,315 inhabitants.
The boundary of Binh Hoa Hung Commune is to the East adjacent to Binh Thanh Commune; to the West adjacent to the Cambodian border; to the South adjacent to Thuan Binh Commune in Thanh Hoa District and Long Thanh Commune in Thu Thuong District; to the North adjacent to My Thanh Tay Commune.
- Binh Thanh Commune retains 4,559 hectares of natural area with 3,839 inhabitants.
Tan An City:
- Separating 282.5 hectares of natural area with 3,528 inhabitants from Huong Tho Phu Commune; 193 hectares of natural area with 2,695 inhabitants from Nhon Thanh Trung Commune to establish Ward V.
- The new Ward V has 476.24 hectares of natural area with 6,223 inhabitants.
The boundary of Ward V is to the East adjacent to Nhon Thanh Trung Commune; to the West adjacent to Huong Tho Phu and Binh Thanh Communes (Thu Thuong District); to the South adjacent to Wards I, II, and III (along the Western Branch of Vam Co River); to the North adjacent to Binh Thanh Commune (Thu Thuong District).
- Huong Tho Phu Commune retains 998.89 hectares of natural area with 7,399 inhabitants.
- Nhon Thanh Trung Commune retains 482.85 hectares of natural area with 5,823 inhabitants.
II. ADJUSTING THE BOUNDARIES OF VINH HUNG, MOCHUA DISTRICTS AND ESTABLISHING NEW TAN HUNG DISTRICT.
Transferring Tan Binh and Tan Binh Tay Communes from Mochua District to Vinh Hung District's management.
Separating Vinh Thanh, Vinh Loi, Vinh Dai, Hung Dien B, Hung Thanh, Vinh Chau A, Vinh Chau B, Thanh Hung, Hung Ha, Hung Dien, and Tan Hung Town from Vinh Hung District to establish Tan Hung District.
After adjusting the district boundaries:
- The new Tan Hung District has 52,437 hectares of natural area with 30,850 inhabitants.
The boundary of Tan Hung District is to the East adjacent to Tan Thanh and Vinh Hung Districts; to the West and South adjacent to Dong Thap Province; to the North adjacent to Vinh Hung District and the Cambodian border.
Vinh Hung District retains 38,238 hectares of natural area with 31,924 inhabitants including Khanh Hung, Hung Dien A, Vinh Tri, Thai Tri, Thai Binh Trung, Vinh Binh, Vinh Thuan, Tuyen Binh, Tuyen Binh Tay Communes, and Vinh Hung Town.
- The remaining area of Mo Ca Commune is 50,054 hectares with a population of 50,562 people, including the communes of Binh Hiep, Binh Tan, Thanh Tri, Tuyen Thanh, Thanh Hung, Hoa Binh Tay, Hoa Binh Trung, Hoa Binh Dong, Binh Phong Thanh, Tan Lap, Tan Thanh, Binh Thanh, and Mo Ca Town.

Article 2. -The People's Committee of Long An Province and the Organization-Cadres Department of the Government shall be responsible for implementing this Decree.
