LETTER
OF THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE NUMBER 2730/TC-CST DATED MARCH 9, 2005 REGARDING CONTINUATION OF IMPLEMENTATION OF CIRCULAR NO. 28/2004/TT-BTC DATED MARCH 31, 2004 OF THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE
RESPECTED: Customs Departments of Provinces and Cities
To implement the Agreement on Economic, Cultural, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic signed on January 16, 2004 regarding the implementation of a 50% reduction in import tariff rates for goods originating from each country, on March 31, 2004, the Ministry of Finance issued Circular No. 28/2004/TT-BTC guiding the implementation of reduced import tariffs for goods originating from Laos.
BASED ON THE AGREEMENT AT THE 27TH MEETING HELD IN HANOI ON JANUARY 7, 2005 OF THE JOINT GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE OF VIETNAM AND LAOS TO CONTINUE IMPLEMENTING THE MECHANISM FOR A 50% REDUCTION IN IMPORT TARIFF RATES FOR GOODS ORIGINATING FROM EACH COUNTRY FOR THE YEAR 2005, THEREFORE, CIRCULAR NO. 28/2004/TT-BTC DATED MARCH 31, 2004 OF THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE GUIDING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF REDUCED IMPORT TARIFFS FOR GOODS ORIGINATING FROM LAOS WILL BE CONTINUED TO BE APPLIED IN 2005.
