REGULATING THE LIST OF DISEASES FOR WHICH PERSONS SUFFERING FROM SUCH DISEASES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO DONATE TISSUE OR BODY PARTS FOR TRANSPLANTATION TO PATIENTS

On the basis of the Law on Tissue and Organ Donation and Transplantation and Cadaver Donation dated November 29, 2006;
This Circular prescribes procedures for receiving, providing health care for domestic violence victims and statistical reports on domestic violence victims at medical facilities.
At the proposal of the Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management;
THE MINISTER OF HEALTH ISSUES THIS CIRCULAR REGULATING THE LIST OF DISEASES FOR WHICH PERSONS SUFFERING FROM SUCH DISEASES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO DONATE TISSUE OR BODY PARTS FOR TRANSPLANTATION TO PATIENTS.
Article 1. ATTACHED TO THIS CIRCULAR IS THE LIST OF DISEASES FOR WHICH PERSONS SUFFERING FROM SUCH DISEASES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO DONATE TISSUE OR BODY PARTS FOR TRANSPLANTATION TO PATIENTS.
Article 2. PRINCIPLES OF APPLICATION OF THE LIST
1. APPLICABLE IN GENETIC AND SPECIES MATCHED TRANSPLANTS, NOT APPLICABLE IN AUTOLOGOUS AND XENOGRAFT TRANSPLANTS.
2. EXCLUDE ALL DISEASES IN THE LIST OF DISEASES GROUP A (LIST OF DISEASES OF DONORS WHOSE TISSUE OR BODY PARTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BE USED FOR TRANSPLANTATION TO PATIENTS) AND, DEPENDING ON THE SPECIFIC CASE OF TISSUE OR BODY PART DONATION FOR TRANSPLANTATION, CONTINUE TO EXCLUDE DISEASES IN THE LIST OF DISEASES GROUP B (LIST OF DISEASES OF DONORS WHOSE TISSUE OR BODY PARTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BE USED FOR TRANSPLANTATION TO SPECIFIC PATIENTS).
Article 3. Implementation Provisions
1. THIS CIRCULAR SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM JANUARY 1, 2013.
2. THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR MEDICAL EXAMINATION AND TREATMENT UNDER THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IMPLEMENTING THIS CIRCULAR./.
