RESOLUTION

ON THE ADJUSTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE BOUNDARIES OF CHAU THANH DISTRICT AND CHO GAU DISTRICT TO EXPAND THE ADMINISTRATIVE BOUNDARIES OF MY THO CITY; ON THE ADJUSTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE BOUNDARIES OF COMMUNES AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF COMMUNES UNDER MY THO CITY, CHAU THANH DISTRICT, CHO GAU DISTRICT, TIEN GIANG PROVINCE

THE GOVERNMENT

Based on the Law on the Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Giang Province,

RESOLVES

Article 1. Adjust the administrative boundaries of Chau Thanh district and Cho Gau district to expand the administrative boundaries of My Tho city; adjust the administrative boundaries of communes and establish communes under My Tho city, Chau Thanh district, Cho Gau district, Tien Giang province as follows:

1. Adjust the administrative boundaries of Chau Thanh district and Cho Gau district to expand the administrative boundaries of My Tho city:

Expand the administrative boundaries of My Tho city based on adjusting 2,585.77 hectares of natural area and 24,440 population from Chau Thanh district (including all 1,211.64 hectares of natural area and 5,505 population from Thoi Son commune; 329.90 hectares of natural area and 4,174 population from Long An commune; 177.69 hectares of natural area and 1,754 population from Thanh Phu commune; 510.01 hectares of natural area and 6,177 population from Phuoc Thanh commune; 356.53 hectares of natural area and 6,830 population from Binh Duc commune) and 709.51 hectares of natural area and 6,917 population from Cho Gau district (including 502.33 hectares of natural area and 4,986 population from Luong Hoa Lac commune; 207.18 hectares of natural area and 1,931 population from Song Binh commune) to be managed by My Tho city.

My Tho city has 8,154.08 hectares of natural area and 204,142 population.

The administrative boundary of My Tho city: East borders Cho Gau district; West borders Chau Thanh district; South borders Ben Tre province; North borders Chau Thanh district and Cho Gau district.

2. Adjust the administrative boundaries of communes and establish communes under My Tho city, Chau Thanh district, and Cho Gau district.

a) Establish Phuoc Thanh commune under My Tho city based on adjusting 329.90 hectares of natural area and 4,174 population from Long An commune; 177.69 hectares of natural area and 1,754 population from Thanh Phu commune; 510.01 hectares of natural area and 6,177 population from Phuoc Thanh commune (the part of natural area and population of Phuoc Thanh commune under Chau Thanh district adjusted to My Tho city);

Phuoc Thanh commune has 1,017.60 hectares of natural area and 12,105 population.

The administrative boundary of Phuoc Thanh commune: East borders Trung An commune; West borders Thanh Phu commune; South borders Trung An commune; North borders Long An commune and Tam Hiep commune;

b) Adjust 356.53 hectares of natural area and 6,830 population from Binh Duc commune (the part of natural area and population adjusted to My Tho city) to be managed by Trung An commune under My Tho city;

c) Adjust 502.33 hectares of natural area and 4,986 population from Luong Hoa Lac commune (the part of natural area and population adjusted to My Tho city) to be managed by Dao Thanh commune under My Tho city;

d) Adjust 207.18 hectares of natural area and 1,931 population from Song Binh commune (the part of natural area and population adjusted to My Tho city) to be managed by Tan My Chan commune under My Tho city;

đ) Adjust the remaining 323.14 hectares of natural area and 3,093 population of Phuoc Thanh commune to be managed by Thanh Phu commune under Chau Thanh district.

3. After adjusting the administrative boundaries of Chau Thanh district and Cho Gau district to expand the administrative boundaries of My Tho city; adjusting the administrative boundaries of communes and establishing communes under My Tho city, Chau Thanh district, and Cho Gau district:

- Dao Thanh commune has 1,031.47 hectares of natural area and 12,427 population.

- Tan My Chan commune has 931.59 hectares of natural area and 8,975 population.

- Trung An commune has 1,063.03 hectares of natural area and 14,651 population.

My Tho city has 8,154.08 hectares of natural area and 204,142 population, with 17 direct administrative units, including wards: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Tan Long ward, and communes: Tan My Chan, Dao Thanh, Trung An, My Phong, Phuoc Thanh, Thoi Son:

- Thanh Phu commune remains 733.79 hectares of natural area and 8,890 population.

- Binh Duc commune remains 755.29 hectares of natural area and 6,649 population.

- Long An commune remains 591.85 hectares of natural area and 8,921 population.

Chau Thanh district remains 22,991.09 hectares of natural area and 234,423 population, with 23 direct administrative units, including: Tan Hiep town and communes: Tan Hoi Dong, Tan Huong, Tan Ly Dong, Tan Ly Tay, Than Cuu Nghia, Tam Hiep, Dien Hy, Nhi Binh, Duong Diem, Dong Hoa, Hue Dao, Long An, Long Hung, Binh Trung, Thanh Phu, Ban Long, Vinh Kim, Binh Duc, Song Thuan, Kim Son, Phu Phong, Long Dinh:

- Luong Hoa Lac commune remains 844.00 hectares of natural area and 10,118 population.

- Song Binh commune remains 932.58 hectares of natural area and 7,435 population.

Cho Gau district remains 22,943.39 hectares of natural area and 183,241 population, with 19 direct administrative units, including: Cho Gau town and communes: Quon Long, Binh Phuc Nhat, Binh Phan, An Thanh Thuy, Binh Ninh, Hoa Dinh, Xuan Dong, Long Binh Duyen, Song Binh, Dang Hung Phuoc, Tan Thuong Binh, Thanh Binh, Luong Hoa Lac, Phu Kiet, My Tinh An, Tan Binh Thanh, Trung Hoa, Hoa Tinh.

Article 2. This Resolution takes effect from the date of its promulgation.

Article 3. The Minister of Interior, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Giang Province, and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Resolution./.
