DECREE
Specifies paid public holidays and establishes annual leave and personal leave regulations

To foster a spirit of enthusiasm for labor competition in building socialism, while nurturing the strength of workers and gradually improving their material and cultural living standards;
At the proposal of the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Home Affairs
Pursuant to the resolution of the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers
DECREE:
Article 1. – The following public holidays with paid leave and annual leave and personal leave regulations for cadres, workers, and civil servants, including those in private enterprises, are hereby established.
Article 2. - Public Holidays with Paid Leave:
Cadres, workers, and civil servants shall be granted paid leave on the following public holidays:
- Lunar New Year (Tet), two and a half days: the last half day of the old year, January 1st and 2nd of the lunar calendar;
- New Year's Day (Gregorian Calendar), one day: January 1st Gregorian
- Buddha's Birthday, one day: April 8th Lunar
- International Labor Day, one day: May 1st Gregorian
- National Day, one day: September 2nd Gregorian
- Christmas Day, one day: December 25th Gregorian
If a public holiday falls on a Sunday, there will be no compensatory leave.
Article 3. – Annual Leave
Those who have worked continuously for one year shall be granted ten days of paid annual leave; or twelve days for those working in remote areas with harsh climates, underground mines, and jobs that are particularly harmful to health.
For those living away from their families, during annual leave when traveling home, if the total travel time (including both going and returning) exceeds two days, additional leave will be granted starting from the third day onward.
Article 4. – Personal Leave for Private Matters:
In addition to the aforementioned leaves, in order to consider family sentiments and prevent excessive leave-taking, it is hereby stipulated that:
Upon the death of a parent, spouse, or child, one to three days of paid leave shall be granted. For those living far away, travel days will also count towards additional leave.
Article 5. – The Ministers of Labor and Home Affairs are responsible for implementing this decree.
