REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CITY OF PLEIKU UNDER THE PROVINCE OF GIA LAI

Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
BASED ON DECISION NO. 132/HĐBT DATED MAY 5, 1990 OF THE STATE COUNCIL (NOW THE GOVERNMENT) ON THE CLASSIFICATION AND MANAGEMENT LEVELS OF URBAN AREAS;
CONSIDERING THE PROPOSAL OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF THE PROVINCE OF GIA LAI AND THE MINISTER - HEAD OF THE ORGANIZATION AND CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE GOVERNMENT,
DECREE:
Article 1. THE CITY OF PLEIKU UNDER THE PROVINCE OF GIA LAI IS ESTABLISHED ON THE BASIS OF THE ENTIRE AREA AND POPULATION OF THE MARKET TOWN OF PLEIKU.
THE CITY OF PLEIKU HAS AN AREA OF 22,569.6 HA AND A POPULATION OF 160,192, INCLUDING 14 PRIMARY ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS, WHICH ARE THE WARD DIEN HOANG, YEN DO, HOA LU, HOI THUONG, HOI PHU, THONG NHAT AND THE COMMUNES BIEN HO, TAN SON, TRA DA, CHU AH, AN PHU, TRA BA, DIEN PHU AND GAU.
THE ADMINISTRATIVE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF PLEIKU: EAST ADJACENT TO THE DISTRICT OF MANG YANG, WEST ADJACENT TO THE DISTRICTS OF IA GRAI AND CHU PA'H, SOUTH ADJACENT TO THE DISTRICT OF CHU PRONG, NORTH ADJACENT TO THE DISTRICTS OF CHU PA'H AND MANG YANG.
Article 2. THIS DECREE SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM THE DATE OF ISSUANCE. ALL PRIOR PROVISIONS CONTRARY TO THIS DECREE SHALL BE ABROGATED.
Article 3. THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF THE PROVINCE OF GIA LAI, THE MINISTER - HEAD OF THE ORGANIZATION AND CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE GOVERNMENT AND THE HEADS OF THE RELATED AUTHORITIES SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS DECREE.
