THE MINISTER OF FINANCE
Pursuant to the Law on Export Tax and Import Tax No. 45/2005/QH11 dated June 14, 2005;
Pursuant to Resolution No. 295/2007/NQ-UBTVQH12 dated September 28, 2007 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the issuance of the Export Tariff List according to the tax category of goods and the tax rate range for each category of goods, the Preferential Import Tariff List according to the tax category of goods and the preferential tax rate range for each category of goods;
Pursuant to Decree No. 149/2005/NĐ-CP dated December 8, 2005 of the Government detailing the implementation of the Law on Export Tax and Import Tax;
Pursuant to Decree No. 77/2003/NĐ-CP dated July 1, 2003 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Finance;
Pursuant to Resolution No. 10/2008/NQ-CP dated April 17, 2008 of the Government on measures to curb inflation, stabilize macroeconomic conditions, ensure social welfare, and achieve sustainable growth;
To implement the directive of the Prime Minister regarding the implementation of certain measures to reduce the trade deficit as stated in Official Letter No. 2910/VPCP-KTTH dated May 9, 2008;
After reaching a consensus with the State Bank as stated in Official Letter No. 257/NHNN-QLNH dated May 15, 2008,
DECISION:
Article 1. Amend the preferential import tariff rates for certain groups of goods specified in Decision No. 106/2007/QD-BTC dated December 20, 2007 of the Minister of Finance to new preferential import tariff rates as set out in the attached List, and apply these rates to customs declarations for imported goods registered with customs authorities from May 26, 2008
Article 2. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
