DECREE-LAW

No. 29 dated September 10, 1945

CHAIRMAN OF THE PROVISIONAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM GOVERNMENT

WHEREAS the decree of December 15, 1941 by the Governor-General of Indochina compelled individuals and legal entities with nationality from the United States, Netherlands, England, and self-governing territories of England to declare their assets in Indochina and place those assets under administrative control; and the decree of December 22, 1941 by the Governor-General of Indochina implemented the aforementioned decree against the association "Compagnie Franep - Asiatique des Pétroles" headquartered at No. 15 Norodom Street, Saigon, established by a government opposed to Allied countries,

IN VIEW OF friendly relations between the Government of Vietnam and the United States, England, and Netherlands,

AFTER THE Council of Ministers has agreed,

 

ISSUES THE DECREE-LAW:

Article 1: The two decrees dated December 15, 1941 and December 22, 1941 mentioned above are hereby repealed.

Article 2: From now on, the Director of the Vietnamese Land Registry Office is no longer required to enforce administrative control over assets of individuals and legal entities with nationality from the United States, England, Netherlands, and self-governing territories of England as established by those two decrees.

Article 3: The Ministers of Interior, Finance, and Justice are hereby entrusted with implementing this decree-law.
