Pursuant to the Law on Cultural Heritage and the Government Decree No. 92/2002/NĐ-CP dated November 11, 2002 detailing the implementation of certain Articles of the Law on Cultural Heritage;

Pursuant to Decree No. 185/2007/NĐ-CP dated December 25, 2007 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism;

Considering the Official Letter No. 140/UBND-VX dated August 1, 2008 from the People's Committee of Bac Giang Province and the relic dossier;

Considering the proposal of the Director of the Heritage Department,

DECISION:

Article 1. The national relics are classified as follows:

HISTORICAL RELIC

XUONG GIANG BATTLE SITE

IN THE XUONG GIANG FORTRESS

(INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS: EAST-NORTH GATE, EAST GATE, NORTH GATE, SOUTH-WEST GATE, SOUTH GATE, CENTRAL AREA, EASTERN WALL REMAINS, XUONG GIANG RIVER SECTION, TRENCH NO. 2, TRENCH NO. 3, WELL OF THE PALACE, TEMPLE OF THE FORTRESS) XUONG GIANG COMMUNE, BAC GIANG CITY, BAC GIANG PROVINCE

The protected area of the relic is determined according to the Minutes and map of the protected areas in the dossier.

Article 2. The People's Committees at all levels where the relics classified in Article 1 of this Decision are located shall perform state management over the relics within their duties and powers as prescribed by laws on cultural heritage.

Article 3. The Standard Measurement Quality Control Department shall be responsible for organizing and guiding the implementation of the Regulations adopted herein.

Article 4. The Head of the Office, the Director of the Heritage Department, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang Province, the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Giang Province, and related organizations and individuals are responsible for implementing this Decision.
