REGARDING IMPORT DUTY ON CHEMICAL PRODUCTS USED AS ANIMAL FEED
PREPARATION OF FEED FOR DOMESTIC ANIMALS

The Ministry of Finance has received Letter No. 42/CVBY-02 dated March 20, 2002 from Bayer Agritech Joint Stock Company, Ho Chi Minh City regarding guidance on the application of tariff codes for chemical products Calcium Iodate; the Ministry of Finance hereby provides its comments as follows:
BASED ON THE LIST OF IMPORT DUTY RATES WITH PREFERENTIAL TARIFFS ISSUED ACCOMPANIED BY DECISION NO. 1803/1998/QĐ-BTC DATED DECEMBER 11, 1998 OF THE MINISTER OF FINANCE (EFFECTIVE FROM JANUARY 1, 1999); CIRCULAR No. 37/1999/TT-BTC DATED APRIL 7, 1999 OF THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE GUIDING METHODS FOR CLASSIFYING GOODS ACCORDING TO THE LIST OF EXPORT TAXES AND IMPORT TAX RATES;
REFERRING TO THE EXPLANATORY NOTES ON THE LIST OF IMPORT-EXPORT GOODS AND DATA ON CD-ROM ISSUED BY THE WORLD CUSTOMS ORGANIZATION COOPERATION COUNCIL; THEN:
CHEMICAL INORGANIC SUBSTANCE CALCIUM IODATE, BELONGING TO GROUP 2829, WITH TARIFIC CODE 2829.90.00, HAS AN IMPORT DUTY RATE OF 0% (ZERO PERCENT).
The Ministry of Finance hereby advises the General Department of Customs to instruct local customs offices to inspect imported goods from Bayer Agritech Joint Stock Company as Calcium Iodate or other items and calculate and collect taxes in accordance with regulations.
