Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Health,

DECISION:

Article 1. The National Steering Committee for Influenza Pandemic Prevention and Control is established, comprising the following members:

1. Chairperson of the Steering Committee: Minister of Health Tran Thi Trung Chien.

2. Deputy Chairperson in charge of day-to-day operations: Deputy Minister of Health Trinh Quan Huan.

3. Deputy Chairperson: Director of the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.

4. Members:

1- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

2- Deputy Minister of Defense

3- Deputy Minister of Public Security

4- Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment

5- Deputy Minister of Finance

6- Deputy Minister of Science and Technology

7- Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development

8- Deputy Minister of Transport

9- Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism

10- Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs

11- Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment

12- Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism

13- Representative of the Government Office

14- Representative of the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee

Article 2. The National Steering Committee for Influenza Pandemic Prevention and Control has the following sub-committees: - Surveillance and Prevention Sub-committee.

- Treatment Sub-committee.

- Propaganda Sub-committee.

- Logistics Sub-committee.

The composition and tasks of each sub-committee shall be decided by the Chairperson of the Steering Committee.

The National Steering Committee for Influenza Pandemic Prevention and Control shall have the following tasks:

Article 3. 1. To develop plans for coordinated activities of ministries and sectors in preventing and controlling influenza pandemic.

2. To organize implementation and supervise and inspect ministries, sectors, and localities in implementing the prevention and control plan for influenza pandemic.

Working regime

Article 4. 1. The Steering Committee operates on a part-time basis and has a permanent office at the Ministry of Health.

2. The Chairperson of the Steering Committee shall stipulate the working regime and specific tasks of the members of the Steering Committee.

This Decision takes effect from the date of issuance. This Decision replaces Decisions No. 297/QD-TTg dated March 19, 2003 and No. 922/QD-TTg dated September 7, 2005 of the Prime Minister.

Article 5. Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government-affiliated agencies, Chairpersons of provincial and municipal People's Committees under the central government, and the National Steering Committee for Influenza Pandemic Prevention and Control are responsible for implementing this Decision. /.

Article 6. The Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government agencies, Chairpersons of People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities, and the National Steering Committee for Pandemic Influenza Prevention and Control shall be responsible for implementing this Decision. /./
