Who is responsible for implementing this Decision?

The Chairman of the Ministry's Commendation Council, Directors of provincial and municipal Culture and Information Departments under the central government, and Heads of units within the national Culture and Information system are responsible for implementing this Decision (Article 7).

Regarding the awarding of the Medal "For the Cultural and Information Cause" - Decree No. 81/CP dated November 8, 1993 of the Government on the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Culture and Information;

THE MINISTER OF CULTURE AND INFORMATION

- - Decree No. 56/1998/NĐ-CP dated July 30, 1998 of the Government on forms, recipients, and criteria for commendation;

- Pursuant to the proposal of the Chairman of the Ministry's Competition and Commendation Council, the Minister's Office Director;

- Now promulgates the Medal "For the Cultural and Information Cause" to recognize the contributions of those who have contributed to the cultural and information cause of the country.

Article 1. The Medal "For the Cultural and Information Cause" shall be awarded to current officials and civil servants working in the cultural and information sector with outstanding long-term service records in the sector.

Article 2. The Medal "For the Cultural and Information Cause" shall be awarded to individuals from social forces, overseas Vietnamese, and foreigners who have made significant contributions to the cultural and information cause of the country.

Article 3.
The awarding of the Medal "For the Cultural and Information Cause" must comply with the Regulations on the Awarding of the Medal "For the Cultural and Information Cause".

Article 4. Abolish the following Decisions:

Article 5. - Decision No. 46/VHTT-VP dated April 15, 1981 on the awarding of the Medal "Cultural Soldier".

- Decision No. 160/QĐ-ĐA dated March 20, 1993 on the awarding of the Medal "For the Cinema Cause".

- Decision No. 772VH/QĐ dated June 23, 1994 on the awarding of the Medal "For the Preservation of National Cultural Heritage".

- Decision No. 3814/QĐ-BVHTT dated December 25, 1998 on the awarding of the Medal "For the Mass Cultural Cause".

This Decision takes effect from January 1, 2001.

Article 6. The Chairmen of the Competition and Commendation Councils of the Ministries, Directors of provincial and centrally-administered city Departments of Culture and Information, Heads of units under the national cultural and information system are responsible for implementing this Decision.

Article 7. The Chairpersons of the Ministry's Awards Council, Directors of Provincial and Central City Departments of Culture and Information, Heads of units under the Cultural and Information Sector throughout the country shall be responsible for implementing this Decision.
