RESOLUTION

REGULATIONS ON CERTAIN MATTERS CONCERNING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF LEGISLATION ON JUDGES AND PEOPLE'S COURT JURY MEMBERS

AND PEOPLE'S COURT APPELLATE PANELS

NATIONAL ASSEMBLY STANDING COMMITTEE

Pursuant to Article 91 of the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 1992;

Pursuant to Article 6 of the Law on the Organization of the National Assembly;

At the request of the President of the Supreme People's Court, the Minister of Justice, and the Minister of National Defense.

Pursuant to …;

1. The Ordinance on Judges and People's Court Jury Members was adopted by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on May 14, 1993, which stipulates that the Ordinance shall take effect from August 15, 1993. Current judges will continue to perform their duties until they are appointed in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance.

2. For current judges who have good moral character, ability, and experience in adjudication, sufficient health to fulfill their duties, but who have not yet completed the required time in legal work, or do not possess a college degree in law or a higher judicial education as prescribed by the Ordinance on Judges and People's Court Jury Members, may still be selected and reappointed as judges, but must study to obtain a bachelor's degree in law.

3. For individuals who are currently not judges and wish to be selected and appointed as judges, they must meet the criteria set forth in the Ordinance on Judges and People's Court Jury Members.

4. The Government and the Supreme People's Court, within the scope of their respective functions, shall provide guidance for the implementation of this Resolution./.
