THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION

Pursuant to Decree No. 22/CP dated March 22, 1994 of the Government stipulating the tasks, authorities, responsibilities for state management and organizational structure of the Ministry of Transport:

Considering the Proposal of the Director General of the Vietnam Inland Waterways Corporation at Circular No. 2205/CĐS-QLĐS dated November 27, 2000 on supplementing the list of inland waterway routes under central management to reduce costs and enhance inland waterway transport capacity between the Thị Vải deep-water port cluster and the Mekong Delta; the Proposal of the Director of the Legal Department

Article 1. Assigns the Vietnam Inland Waterways Corporation to organize the management of two inland waterway routes from the Thị Vải port cluster to the Mekong Delta:

Route I: From the confluence of Rạch Ông Trúc with the Thị Vải River, following Rạch Ông Trúc for 1.6 km, passing through Tắc Nha Phương for 1.7 km, crossing Sông Đồng Kho for 7 km, passing through Tắc Ông Trung for 3.4 km, crossing Sông Đồng Tranh for 14.6 km, crossing Sông Lòng Tàu for 5 km (currently managed by the Vietnam Maritime Administration), passing through Tắc Ông Nghĩa for 3.3 km, crossing Kênh Bà Tống for 3.2 km, crossing Sông Soài Rạp for 5 km (currently managed by the Vietnam Maritime Administration), crossing Sông Cần Giuộc for 10 km (currently managed by the Vietnam Inland Waterways Corporation), crossing Kênh Nước Mặn for 2 km, crossing Sông Vàm Cỏ for 26 km (currently managed by the Vietnam Inland Waterways Corporation), crossing Rạch Lá for 10 km (currently managed by the Vietnam Inland Waterways Corporation), then entering Kênh Chợ Gạo.

Route II: From the confluence of Sông Gò Gia with the Thị Vải River, following Sông Gò Gia for 6.3 km, passing through Tắc Bài and Tắc Ông Cu for 7.5 km, crossing Sông Đồng Tranh for 6.5 km, crossing Rạch Tắc Rồi for 7.4 km, crossing Sông Giừa for 0.5 km, crossing Sông Lòng Tàu for 11 km (currently managed by the Vietnam Maritime Administration), passing through Tắc Ông Nghĩa for 3.3 km, crossing Kênh Bà Tống for 3.2 km, crossing Sông Soài Rạp for 5 km, crossing Sông Cần Giuộc for 10 km, crossing Kênh Nước Mặn for 2 km, crossing Sông Vàm Cỏ for 26 km, crossing Rạch Lá for 10 km, then entering Kênh Chợ Gạo.

Article 2. The rivers and canals listed in Article 1 shall be funded by the central budget according to current regulations.

Article 3. Rivers and canals currently managed by the Vietnam Maritime Administration and the Vietnam Inland Waterways Corporation shall continue to be implemented according to existing Decisions.

Article 4. This Decision supplements Decision No. 1731/QĐ/PC-VT dated July 10, 1997 of the Minister of Transport announcing the list of rivers and canals under central management.

Article 5. People's Committees of provinces and centrally-administered cities where the rivers and canals mentioned in Article 1 are located: the Directors of the Office of the Ministry; the Director General of the Vietnam Inland Waterways Corporation; Heads of Departments, Advisory Bureaus, and other relevant agencies subordinate to the Ministry are responsible for implementing this Decision.
