THE MINISTER OF FINANCE

Pursuant to the Law on Customs dated June 29, 2001; the Law Amending and Supplementing Certain Provisions of the Law on Customs dated June 14, 2005;

Pursuant to Decree No. 86/2002/ND-CP dated November 5, 2002 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, and powers of ministries and ministerial-level agencies;

Pursuant to Decree No. 96/2002/ND-CP dated November 19, 2002 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, and powers of the General Department of Customs;

Pursuant to Decision No. 30/2003/QD-BTC dated February 17, 2003 of the Minister of Finance stipulating the functions, tasks, and powers of the Departments, Office, and Inspectorate under the General Department of Customs;

Pursuant to Decision No. 72/2006/QD-BTC dated December 13, 2006 of the Minister of Finance stipulating the functions, tasks, and powers and organizational structure of the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department under the General Department of Customs;

At the proposal of the Director-General of the General Department of Customs, the Head of the Personnel Department.

DECISION:

Article 1. Assigns the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department of the General Department of Customs the task of organizing the enforcement of intellectual property rights protection and combating counterfeit goods in the Customs sector. Transfer the task of assisting the Director-General of the General Department of Customs in drafting regulatory legal documents, Regulations, and Procedures for the implementation of intellectual property rights protection for exported and imported goods to be submitted to competent authorities for promulgation from the Supervision and Management Department to the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department of the General Department of Customs.

Article 2. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. The Director-General of the General Department of Customs, the Head of the Personnel Department, the Director of the Ministry of Finance's Office, and the Heads of relevant agencies, units, and organizations are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
