Decree No. 44/2005/NĐ-CP On the Group of Standard Positions and Corresponding Highest Military Ranks for Officers of the Vietnam People's Army

This Decree stipulates the group of standard positions and corresponding highest military ranks for officers of the Vietnam People's Army holding leadership, command, and management positions. It replaces the previous Decree and takes effect 15 days after being published in the Official Gazette.

DECREE

Regarding the establishment of standard positions and corresponding highest military ranks for officers of the Vietnam People's Army

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Pursuant to Article 11, Article 15, and Article 51 of the Officer Law of the Vietnam People's Army dated December 21, 1999;

At the proposal of the Minister of National Defense,

DECREE:

Article 1.

1. The following standard positions and corresponding highest military ranks for officers of the Vietnam People's Army holding leadership, command, and management positions are hereby established:

2. The classification of other officer positions holding leadership, command, and management positions into the same standard position group (equivalent to the standard position) and corresponding highest military rank shall be specified by the Minister of National Defense.

Article 2. For officers not holding leadership, command, and management positions, the highest military rank shall be determined by the Minister of National Defense.

Article 3. This Decree takes effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette and replaces Decree No. 77/HĐBT dated March 27, 1991 of the Council of Ministers on military ranks for assignment to positions in the Vietnam People's Army. Any previous regulations contrary to this Decree are abolished.

Article 4. The Minister of National Defense is responsible for guiding and detailing the implementation of this Decree.
