Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries to establish certain communes and towns
in Phu My, Van Canh districts, Binh Dinh province
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province and the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadres Department of the Government,
DECREE:
Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries are adjusted to establish communes and towns in Phu My, Van Canh districts, Binh Dinh province as follows:
1. Establishing the town of Binh Duong under Phu My district based on 392 hectares of natural area and 5,420 population of My Loi commune.
The administrative boundary of the town of Binh Duong: East borders My Loi commune; West borders My Loc commune; South borders My Phong commune; North borders My Chau commune.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish the town of Binh Duong, My Loi commune remains with 2,590 hectares of natural area and 7,814 population.
2. Establishing My Chanh Tay commune under Phu My district based on 2,640 hectares of natural area and 5,297 population of My Chanh commune.
The administrative boundary of My Chanh Tay commune: East borders My Chanh commune; West borders My Quang commune; South borders My Tai commune; North borders My Trinh and My Tho communes.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish My Chanh Tay commune, My Chanh commune remains with 1,979 hectares of natural area and 14,428 population.
3. Establishing Van Canh town - the district capital of Van Canh district based on 1,396.61 hectares of natural area and 2,861 population of Canh Thuan commune; 599.26 hectares of natural area and 2,334 population of Canh Hiep commune.
Van Canh town has 1,995.87 hectares of natural area and 5,195 population.
The administrative boundary of Van Canh town: East and North border Canh Hiep commune; West and South border Canh Thuan commune.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Van Canh town, Canh Thuan commune remains with 8,314.39 hectares of natural area and 2,115 population.
Canh Hiep commune remains with 12,402.74 hectares of natural area and 1,485 population.
Article 2. This Decree takes effect from the date of signature. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadres Department of the Government, and the Heads of related agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
