DECREE
REGARDING THE ADJUSTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE BOUNDARIES OF COMMUNES AND WARD, THE ESTABLISHMENT OF COMMUNES, WARDS, AND MARKET TOWNS BELONGING TO THE CITY OF PLEIKU AND THE COUNTIES OF CHU PRONG, CHU SE, PROVINCE OF GIA LAI

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the National Assembly; of the People's Committee of Gia Lai Province.
DECREE:
Article 1. The administrative boundaries of communes and wards, the establishment of communes, wards, and market towns belonging to the city of Pleiku and the counties of Chu Prong, Chu Se, province of Gia Lai shall be adjusted as follows:
1. Establishing Dong Da Ward under the city of Pleiku based on adjusting 402.43 hectares of natural area and 6,068 population from Thong Nhat Ward.
Dong Da Ward has 402.43 hectares of natural area and 6,068 population.
Administrative boundary of Dong Da Ward: East borders with Bien Ho Commune; West borders with Yen The Ward and Ia Der Commune, Ia Grai District; South borders with Thong Nhat Ward; North borders with Yen The Ward and Bien Ho Commune.
2. Establishing Phu Dong Ward under the city of Pleiku based on adjusting 103.31 hectares of natural area and 6,175 population from Hoi Phu Ward; 349.87 hectares of natural area and 7,927 population from Tra Ba Ward.
Phu Dong Ward has 453.18 hectares of natural area and 14,102 population.
Administrative boundary of Phu Dong Ward: East borders with Thang Loi Ward; West borders with Hoi Thuong Ward and Hoi Phu Ward; North borders with Hoa Lu Ward and Tra Da Commune; South borders with Tra Ba Ward.
3. Adjusting 187.78 hectares of natural area and 968 population of Ia Kenh Commune under the city of Pleiku to be managed by Chu HDrong Commune.
Chu HDrong Commune has 2,548 hectares of natural area and 11,107 population.
4. Establishing Chi Lang Ward under the city of Pleiku based on adjusting 1,245.37 hectares of natural area and 7,330 population of Chu HDrong Commune.
Chi Lang Ward has 1,245.37 hectares of natural area and 7,330 population.
Administrative boundary of Chi Lang Ward: East borders with Chu A Commune, Chu HDrong Commune, and Ia Bang Commune, Dak Doa District; West borders with Hoi Phu Ward and Ia Kenh Commune; South borders with Ia Kenh Commune and Chu HDrong Commune; North borders with Hoi Phu Ward and Tra Ba Ward.
5. Establishing Ia Kly Commune under Chu Prong County based on adjusting 1,735 hectares of natural area and 1,902 population of Chu Prong Market Town; 471 hectares of natural area and 374 population of Ia Tor Commune.
Ia Kly Commune has 2,206.00 hectares of natural area and 2,176 population.
Administrative boundary of Ia Kly Commune: East borders with Ia Tor Commune; West borders with Chu Prong Market Town; South borders with Ia Me Commune and Ia Tor Commune; North borders with Chu Prong Market Town and Ia Phin Commune.
6. Establishing Ia Bang Commune under Chu Prong County based on adjusting 2,197 hectares of natural area and 1,587 population of Ia Ve Commune; 1,869 hectares of natural area and 1,259 population of Ia Tor Commune.
Ia Bang Commune has 4,066.00 hectares of natural area and 2,846 population.
Administrative boundary of Ia Bang Commune: East borders with Ia HLop Commune and Ia Ko Commune, Chu Se District; West borders with Ia Tor Commune; South borders with Ia Ve Commune; North borders with Ia Tor Commune and Ia Bang Commune.
7. Establishing Nhon Hoa Market Town under Chu Se County based on adjusting 2,100 hectares of natural area and 10,500 population of Nhon Hoa Commune.
Nhon Hoa Market Town has 2,100.00 hectares of natural area and 10,500 population.
Administrative boundary of Nhon Hoa Market Town: East borders with Ia Hru Commune; West borders with Chu Don (new); South borders with Ia Phang Commune; North borders with Ia Hru Commune.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries:
- Thong Nhat Ward remains 626.27 hectares of natural area and 7,733 population.
- Hoi Phu Ward remains 452.89 hectares of natural area and 8,427 population.
- Tra Ba Ward remains 408.80 hectares of natural area and 10,612 population.
- Ia Kenh Commune remains 3,303.22 hectares of natural area and 3,054 population.
- Chu HDrong Commune remains 1,302.74 hectares of natural area and 3,777 population.
The city of Pleiku has 26,199.34 hectares of natural area and 200,262 population, including 23 subordinate administrative units, namely the wards: Hoa Lu, Tay Son, Dien Hong, Ia Kring, Yen Do, Hoi Thuong, Yen The, Thang Loi, Tra Ba, Hoi Phu, Phu Dong, Thong Nhat, Dong Da, Chi Lang, and the communes: Tra Da, Chu A, Bien Ho, Tan Son, Gao, An Phu, Dien Phu, Chu HDrong, Ia Kenh.
- Chu Prong Market Town remains 2,014.73 hectares of natural area and 8,061 population.
- Ia Tor Commune remains 2,207.51 hectares of natural area and 3,580 population.
- Ia Ve Commune remains 7,061.42 hectares of natural area and 5,071 population.
Chu Prong County has 169,551.56 hectares of natural area and 83,135 population, including 20 subordinate administrative units, namely: Chu Prong Market Town and the communes: Ia Drang, Bau Can, Thang Hung, Binh Giao, Ia Ga, Ia Lao, Ia Pior, Ia Me, Ia Boong, Ia Mo, Ia O, Ia Puch, Ia Phin, Ia Bang, Ia Vey, Ia Tor, Ia Kly, and Ia Pia.
- Nhon Hoa Commune remains 3,889.50 hectares of natural area and 1,840 population.
Changing the name of Nhon Hoa Commune to Chu Don Commune.
Administrative boundary of Chu Don Commune: East borders with Nhon Hoa Market Town; West borders with Ia Hla Commune; South borders with Ia Phang Commune and Ia Le Commune; North borders with Ia Dreng Commune.
Chu Se County has 135,991.29 hectares of natural area and 144,593 population, including 21 subordinate administrative units, namely: Chu Se Market Town, Nhon Hoa Market Town, and the communes: Dun, Ia HLop, Ia Hla, Bar Maih, Ia Le, Ia BLu, Ia Tiem, Chu Pong, Ia Ko, Bo Ngoong, Ayun, Ia Glai, Ia Phang, Ia Hru, Ia Dreng, Ia Blang, AlBa, Chu Don, and HBong.
Article 2. This Decree takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette. Previous regulations that conflict with this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Minister of Interior, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Lai Province, and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
