Regarding the establishment of Ha Tien city under Kiengiang province and the establishment of wards within Ha Tien city
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Kiengiang province and the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadres Department of the Government,
DECREE:
Article 1. Now, Ha Tien city and the wards within Ha Tien city, Kiengiang province, are established as follows:
a) Ha Tien city is established based on the entire area and population of Ha Tien town, Thuan Yen commune (excluding 2,732 hectares of natural area and 3,302 residents managed by Phu My commune), My Duc commune, and Tien Hai commune under Ha Tien district.
Ha Tien city has 8,573.39 hectares of natural area and 34,541 residents, including 4 wards and 3 communes.
The boundaries of Ha Tien city: East borders Ha Tien district; West and South border the sea; North borders the Vietnam-Cambodia border.
b) Four wards within Ha Tien city are established based on the old Ha Tien town and 618 hectares of natural area, 1,116 residents from My Duc commune, specifically as follows:
1. Binh San Ward: Binh San Ward is established based on 148.55 hectares of natural area and 5,698 residents.
The boundaries of Binh San Ward: East borders Dong Ho Ward; West borders Pho Dai Ward; South borders Pho Dai Ward and To Chau Ward; North borders My Duc commune.
2. Dong Ho Ward: Dong Ho Ward is established based on 1,571.64 hectares of natural area and 8,360 residents.
The administrative boundaries of Dong Ho Ward: East borders Ha Tien district; West borders Binh San Ward and My Duc commune; South borders To Chau Ward; North borders the Vietnam-Cambodia border.
3. To Chau Ward: To Chau Ward is established based on 247.2 hectares of natural area and 4,273 residents.
The administrative boundaries of To Chau Ward: East borders Thuan Yen commune; West borders Pho Dai Ward; South borders the sea; North borders Dong Ho Ward.
4. Pho Dai Ward: Pho Dai Ward is established based on 805 hectares of natural area and 6,507 residents.
The administrative boundaries of Pho Dai Ward: East borders Binh San Ward and To Chau Ward; West and South border the sea; North borders My Duc commune.
c) After adjusting the administrative boundaries of communes within Ha Tien city as follows:
1. My Duc commune has 1,632 hectares of natural area and 3,302 residents. The administrative boundaries of My Duc commune: East borders Dong Ho Ward; West borders the sea; South borders Binh San Ward and Pho Dai Ward; North borders the Vietnam-Cambodia border.
2. Thuan Yen commune has 3,042 hectares of natural area and 5,346 residents. The administrative boundaries of Thuan Yen commune: East borders Ha Tien district; West borders To Chau Ward; South borders the sea; North borders Dong Ho Ward and Ha Tien district.
3. Tien Hai commune (island commune) has 1,100 hectares of natural area and 1,055 residents.
d) After adjusting the administrative boundaries:
Ha Tien district has 89,548.5 hectares of natural area and 62,162 residents, including 6 communes and 1 town.
Phu My commune under Ha Tien district has 15,037.5 hectares of natural area and 4,584 residents.
Article 2. This Decree takes effect fifteen days after its issuance. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Kiengiang province, the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadres Department of the Government, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
