DECREE

REGARDING THE ADJUSTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE BOUNDARIES OF COMMUNES AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MAI SON AND BAC YEN DISTRICTS IN SON LA PROVINCE

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

CONSIDERING THE PROPOSAL OF THE MINISTER OF INTERIOR AND THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF SON LA PROVINCE.

DECREE:

Article 1. The administrative boundaries of communes shall be adjusted, and Mai Son and Bac Yen districts in Son La province shall be established as follows:

1. Establish Na Bo commune under Mai Son district based on the adjustment of 2,812.68 hectares of natural area and 3,815 population from Hat Lot commune; 3,569.45 hectares of natural area and 2,508 population from Ta Ho commune.

Na Bo commune has 6,382.13 hectares of natural area and 6,323 population.

The administrative boundary of Na Bo commune: East borders Ta Ho commune, Mai Son district, Muong Khoa commune, Bac Yen district; West borders Muong Bon commune, Hat Lot town, Mai Son district; South borders Co Noi commune, Mai Son district, Chien Dong commune, Yen Chau district; North borders Ta Ho commune, Chien Chan commune, Mai Son district.

2. Establish Hang Dong commune under Bac Yen district based on the adjustment of 13,108 hectares of natural area and 2,017 population from Ta Xua commune.

Hang Dong commune has 13,108 hectares of natural area and 2,017 population.

The administrative boundary of Hang Dong commune: East borders Suoi To commune, Phu Yen district; West borders Xim Vang commune, Bac Yen district; South borders Ta Xua commune, Bac Yen district; North borders Ban Mu commune, Tran Tau district, Yen Bai province.

3. Establish Hua Nan commune under Bac Yen district based on the adjustment of 3,536 hectares of natural area and 1,798 population from Ta Khoa commune; 2,321 hectares of natural area and 1,259 population from Muong Khoa commune.

Hua Nan commune has 5,857 hectares of natural area and 3,057 population.

The administrative boundary of Hua Nan commune: East borders Muong Khoa and Ta Khoa communes, Bac Yen district; West borders Chien Dong commune, Yen Chau district; South borders Sapvat commune, Yen Chau district, Phieng Cong commune, Bac Yen district; North borders Ta Ho commune, Mai Son district.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries:

- Hat Lot commune remains with 5,635.32 hectares of natural area and 7,791 population.

- Ta Ho commune remains with 8,237.55 hectares of natural area and 3,352 population.

Mai Son district has 142,377 hectares of natural area and 129,513 population, including 22 subordinate administrative units, namely: Hat Lot, Co Noi, Ta Ho, Chien Luong, Phieng Pan, Phieng Cam, Chien Mung, Muong Bon, Muong Bang, Chien Sung, Chien Chan, Chien Ban, Chien Mai, Chien Ve, Chien Chung, Muong Tran, Na Ot, Chien Noi, Chien Dong, Chien Kheo, Na Bo communes and Hat Lot town.

- Ta Xua commune remains with 4,496.6 hectares of natural area and 2,104 population.

- Ta Khoa commune remains with 7,456.4 hectares of natural area and 3,729 population.

- Muong Khoa commune remains with 6,096.5 hectares of natural area and 4,162 population.

Bac Yen district has 109,936 hectares of natural area and 52,595 population, including 16 subordinate administrative units, namely: Phieng Ban, Song Pe, Chien Sai, Chim Van, Pac Nga, Hong Ngai, Phieng Cong, Ta Xua, Lang Cheo, Xim Vang, Hang Chu, Muong Khoa, Ta Khoa, Hua Nan, Hang Dong communes and Bac Yen town.

Article 2. This Decree takes effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations that conflict with this Decree are hereby abolished.

Article 3. THE MINISTER OF INTERIOR, THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF SON LA PROVINCE, HEADS OF RELATED AGENCIES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENFORCING THIS DECREE./.
