MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS

Pursuant to the Telecommunications Law dated May 25, 2002;

Pursuant to Decree No. 187/2007/ND-CP dated December 25, 2007 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Information and Communications.

At the proposal of the Director of the Post Department,

DECISION:

Article 1. Issuing four (4) initial digits of the National Postal Code detailed to the district/county level for use in the operation of the public postal network and postal services within the entire country.

Article 2. Based on the four (4) initial digits issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications, Vietnam Post Corporation shall be responsible for developing and completing the next two (2) digits of the National Postal Code and issuing the full six (6)-digit National Postal Code detailed to the delivery address cluster level.

Article 3. Vietnam Post Corporation shall be responsible for reporting to the Ministry of Information and Communications at least thirty (30) days prior to implementing the six-digit National Postal Code.

Article 4. This Decision shall take effect fifteen (15) days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

During implementation, if there are difficulties or obstacles, Vietnam Post Corporation and users shall be responsible for reflecting them to the Ministry of Information and Communications for review and resolution.

Article 5. The Director of the Postal Department, Heads of agencies and units under the Ministry of Information and Communications, Directors of Provincial Departments of Information and Communications, General Director of Vietnam Post Corporation, organizations and individuals participating in postal activities, and users are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
