THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT

  Pursuant to Decree No. 199/2013/NĐ-CP dated November 26, 2013 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;

  Pursuant to Decree No. 116/2014/NĐ-CP dated December 4, 2014 of the Government detailing certain provisions of the Law on Plant Protection and Quarantine;

  Pursuant to Circular No. 35/2014/TT-BNNPTNT dated October 31, 2014 of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development promulgating the List of Plant Quarantine Objects of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam;

  Considering the proposal of the Director of the Plant Protection Department,

DECISION:

Article 1. Temporarily suspend the importation of peanuts (Arachis hypogaea) from India due to contamination with the Indian meal moth (Caryedon serratus Olivier), which is a plant quarantine object in Vietnam.

Article 2. The Plant Protection Department shall:

Strictly inspect consignments of peanuts imported from India during the period when this decision is temporarily suspended but not yet effective;

Officially notify the competent authority for plant quarantine in India to take thorough measures to address the issue;

Organize inspections and confirm the corrective measures taken by India and report to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Article 3. This Decision takes effect sixty days from the date of issuance.

Article 4. The Head of the Ministry's Office, the Director of the Plant Protection Department, and the Heads of relevant agencies and units are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
